The Racial Content of Advertising
American Thinker ^ | 27 Mar, 2025 | Jeffrey Folks

Dozens of ads depict whites in a demeaning manner and blacks as their superiors in intelligence and ability.

In an advertisement currently running on TV, a young white male kneels on his front lawn, trimming the grass one blade at a time with a nail clipper. Next door, a slightly older black male sits comfortably on his porch, scanning his automated payroll accounts with an air of confidence and superiority as he looks askance at his foolish neighbor.

In another ad, a large, middle-aged black woman dances and sings her way through the supermarket aisles, waited upon entirely by whites. At one point she stands still, looking doubtfully at a middle-aged white male who has taken a break from mopping the floors. In the end, she breezes out of the store, her cart filled by whites employees overjoyed to serve her.

In yet another ad, two young girls are selling something like Girl Scout cookies — one using a payment app and another relying on cash. The black girl, who uses the app, has sold her entire wagonload of goods before the other has sold much of anything. At the end, the black girl wheels her wagon off with a baseball glove and ball inside (indicating she is headed out to play), looking back with a knowing smile at her less clued-in white neighbor.

These are just a few of the dozens of ads now airing that depict whites in a demeaning manner and blacks as their superiors in intelligence and ability.

“Racial superiority” was once regarded as immoral if not criminal, but now it is out in the open, with blacks consistently depicted as more capable than whites. Nearly every medical doctor in the media is depicted as a black male, a throwback to Dr. Huxtable

Discriminating against white people seems like it would be a poor business decision.

The ad I like the best is the cat in the limousine pretending he doesn’t recognize his owner.

Michael Jordan said, even republicans buy shoes. That said republicans are man enough to actually stop buying so they remain chattel.

One can always let companies know that their advertising has put you off of their product.

TV advertising is aimed at a gullible viewing audience with an average IQ of about 85-90. Draw your own conclusions from that. Personally, I don’t know a single white person who can even identify two shows on network TV these days.

I don’t always see commercials but when I do, I use them to tell me what NOT to buy. In general anything made by Proctor and Gamble is a no go.

Advertising panders to those who have the $$$ to spend....i.e., those EBT’s, from whiteys earnings, are what they’re targeting, with app’s running on their Obamaphones. They’re on their way to the fist-fights, at the fast food joints, because they didn’t get their order the way they wanted....

Capturing the ad actor jobs will not solve the inequality problem they have

Tyrus calls it “the death of White people in commercials”.

What I noticed is this phenomenon manifested literally overnight when taterhead biden stumbled into the Whitehouse.

This guy just noticed this?

Been going on for two decades or more.

It’s why I told my kids I quit watching TV. (They were still at home then, so it’s really more like 25 years) I used to tell them to play (figuratively) “Find the doofus” in a TV show or an advertisement. It WAS and IS always the white male, generally the loser father figure.

“I notice cruise ship ads don’t have blacks.”

Security system company commercials ALWAYS without fail depict the criminal lurking around thechome as White.....every single time.

The racial ad that most caught my eye had a black parent, a white parent, and two kids that looked Asian to me. I was so caught up in figuring out how that could be that I don’t remember what they were advertizing...lol

Discriminating against white people seems like it would be a poor business decision.

I have heard it said that white people are generally pretty color-blind when it comes to advertising. They look at the product and consider whether the product might be a good thing to buy. That's pretty much all that white people see. Now, the trend discussed in this article is very real, and white people ARE beginning to notice and ARE offended by how blatant it is. So, that is a shift. But, in the past, white people didn't much care about this stuff.

It is, apparently, different with blacks. They buy products advertised by blacks, not whites. Too many white people in a commercial just means it's a white man's product and is not suitable for blacks. They notice this stuff and they act on it. Which is why companies make a point of including blacks everywhere. If they don't they are likely to lose black customers. Whereas, having blacks in commercial does not (generally) offend white people, because white people (generally) don't even notice the colors. But this is changing now because the commercials have become so over-the-top and offensive.

I was just on a Delta flight. Everyone in the safety video was black, Asian or a white woman. One white guy, older, was shown putting on a seat belt.
