Russia launched an overnight drone strike against the Ukrainian Black Sea port of Mykolaiv, just hours after the US announced that Moscow and Kyiv had agreed to a maritime ceasefire, authorities said.
The mayor of Mykolaiv said on Wednesday morning that the city was experiencing emergency power outages.
Meanwhile, the region's governor confirmed that the Ukrainian military had destroyed seven Russian drones in the region overnight.

Although Moscow and Kyiv agreed to a Black Sea ceasefire after three days of separate talks with US officials in Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh, questions remain about its implementation.
Speaking on Tuesday, Zelenskyy said the agreement would go into effect immediately. However, the Kremlin released a statement saying that it would only meet the terms of the deal once some Western sanctions had been lifted.
Russia said sanctions against organisations like the Russian Agricultural Bank would have to end, and their access to the SWIFT system of international payments would have to be restored.
The Ukrainian president disagreed that this was part of the agreement.
“There are absolutely clear statements that have been published by the White House, everyone can see what is stated there," he said.
“And there is something that the Kremlin is lying about again: that supposedly the (ceasefire) in the Black Sea depends on the issue of sanctions.”

It was NOT agreed to...it was on the table...
Not to worry..."Z" has all the cards.
The Russians don’t want peace until they have conquered more land...and more land.
Putin didnt agree to anything. He is just toying with negotiators. And he is either laughing at Trump or expecting Trump to do nothing to Russia.
Trump has lots of leverage over Ukraine. Not so much over Russia.
Yup.
But maybe the Ukraine which seems hell bent on continuing this war (their senior leaders) should take some credit in our non-propagandist and fact checked media.
I think Russia wants this to end as well.
It’s costing them dearly in treasure and people. Guns or butter.
I agree Russia has the upper hand and we don’t have the sort of leverage as with Ukraine, but Russia is also getting hurt in all of this and would like to see it end.
Putin lies like a Democrat. I understand that comparing anyone to a Democrat is an insult of the highest order, but it must be done.
It was agreed to. Russia added the conditions after President Trump released the U.S. readout of the deal. Sanctions relief was never a precondition to the Black Sea ceasefire.
Russia is getting hurt, and has been since day one. Putin’s ego is the issue. He either refuses to take a loss, or politically cant afford to take a loss. So he continues to feed the meat grinder. No mistake its costly for Ukraine as well, and in the end, it is an attrition battle that Ukraine cant win. But Putins losses are roughly 4 to 1 compared to Ukraine in men, and probably still in vehicles, armor, aircraft, and certainly naval assets.
Looks like everyone over THERE wants war!
Let THEM have at it!
Putin’s a shi_.
Is Putin now in the habit of demanding economic and diplomatic concessions from the U.S. to make it worth his while to stop his war on Ukraine?
Boomers will have to pass as a generation before America can move past the Cold War. Hippies are emotional animals and not thinkers.
Zelensky is a cu_.
I thought we agreed you would not post to me. I want nothing to do with your rude and child like comments.
Let me be clear if its necessary after all this time. Do not post to me.
Unless President Trump says so from his own mouth, anything Uke Nazi supporters say is Disinformational Lies.
Zelensky agreed to the deal with President Trump. Putin rejected it by adding preconditions on sanctions relief.
Mykolaiv? It’s Nikolaev LOL
No preconditions.
