‘Medical Error’ Led to Death of 6-Year-Old Who Developed Pneumonia After Measles Diagnosis
Public Health Policy Journal ^ | March 2025 | Suzanne Burdick, Ph.D.

Posted on 03/22/2025 6:21:32 PM PDT by CedarDave

A child who died in a Texas hospital after developing pneumonia following a measles infection died as a result of “medical error” — including failure to administer the correct antibiotic in time, according to a medical expert who reviewed the child’s medical records.

Children’s Health Defense (CHD) obtained the medical records from the family of the 6-year-old girl. The parents said they wanted people to know what happened to their daughter so it wouldn’t happen to other children.

Dr. Pierre Kory, who has extensive experience in pulmonary and critical care medicine, analyzed the records and said ... "this case was tragic.”

According to Kory’s analysis of the records, the girl died from a secondary bacterial pneumonia that had “little to do with measles.”

He added, “When I say it has little to do with measles, secondary bacterial pneumonias can happen after any viral infection.”

Kory said the girl “died of a medical error — and that error was a completely inappropriate antibiotic” for treating the kind of pneumonia she had.

The records showed that the girl was initially admitted to the emergency room (ER) for “secondary bacterial pneumonia,” Kory told The Defender. At that time, her measles rash was already fading.

She was not administered the correct antibiotic for treating her secondary bacterial pneumonia until roughly two and a half days later. By that time, she had declined so severely that doctors had already placed her on a mechanical ventilator, Kory said.

Also, it appears there was a delay of more than nine hours from the time when the correct antibiotic was finally ordered and the time it was given, Kory said. “Less than 24 hours later, she died — and she died rather catastrophically … suddenly her blood pressure crashed and she arrested.”

It wasn’t the measles after all.

Imagine that.

That’ll be a disappointment to the vaxxers. Now they won’t have a case to point to to condemn parents who choose to not have their kids vaccinated.

Horrible situation — may the parents find some sort of solace in getting the truth out.

Medical malpractice kills an incredible number of people. It is responsible for many more deaths than what is commonly recognized because it is always covered up whenever possible.

When we lived in El Paso (late 50’s), my sister and I had the measles. All of the neighborhood kids came to our house to play with us. That was back in the day when parents wanted their children to catch the measles and build their immune systems.

They’ll still use this just like they still use the “very fine people” lie even though the recordings show it to be a bald-faced lie. It’s the native tongue for some people with an agenda.

I really hope this was a mistake and not medical people trying to create a story to fit an agenda, like all the women denied perfectly legal maternal care in order for the pro-aborts to say that prolife laws endanger women.

Even if a mistake, though, if it’s true that medical error is the top medical cause of death it doesn’t make the pain for the families any less. My heart and prayers are with this family. A 6 year old is so full of life and wonder. They will never be able to fill the hole left in their hearts.

DEI strikes again? Remember, 50% of doctors graduate in the bottom half of their class. ( This used to be a distinction without a difference, but since medical schools started allowing DEI students, LORD only knows who they’ve graduated).

Did her stay in a hospital for a few days cause her to pickup this death wish ?

I have never seen or heard of such a bald statement in a medical review. My guess is that she had a very bad physician treating her and the reviewer and the hospital are after the the treating physician’s license.

I thought it was because measles was a childhood illness and very serious for adults to get. Plus it was easier for the parents if they could plan around the infection and didn’t have to worry about the kids getting it again.

I don’t recall anything about building the immune system in those days.

Viral infections increase susceptibility to bacterial infections.

In addition, measles can damage or destroy the immune system, wiping out past immunity and leaving the person unable to mount proper immune responses during future infections or immunizations. Measles also causes deafness and blindness and can return several years later to cause an encephalitis that is invariably fatal.

It’s a shame the kid wasn’t vaccinated. This death did not need to happen. And I have to say that I seriously do not understand the depth of belief in antivax nonsense that leads parents to conclude that even though they just lost a child to a disease that is 93% preventable with a vaccine, they still won’t protect their other kids against disease. Unbelievable.

Medicine is now against antivaxers. They will let you die from other causes just because you did not comply with the official Vax mandates. You can see their faces change to hate as soon as you tell them you have not been vaxed for covid when they ask.

Any kid who had measles, mumps, etc always had a party with kids in the neighborhood, also cousins etc to build up the immune systems. Moms weren’t making us wash our hands every 10 minutes, no “sanitizing” shopping carts, and if we dropped food on the floor or outside on the ground we “kissed it up to God” and ate it.
