...the American Psychiatric Association's (APA) Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM)- clinically terms psychopathy as Antisocial Personality Disorder. According to the most recent fifth edition of the DSM, a person must meet the following criteria to be clinically diagnosed with Antisocial Personality Disorder:

· A pervasive pattern of disregard for and violation of the rights of others, since age 15 years, as indicated by three (or more) of the following:

· Failure to conform to social norms concerning lawful behaviors, such as performing acts that are grounds for arrest.

· Deceitfulness, repeated lying, use of aliases, or conning others for pleasure or personal profit.

· Impulsivity or failure to plan.

· Irritability and aggressiveness, often with physical fights or assaults.

· Reckless disregard for the safety of self or others.

· Consistent irresponsibility, failure to sustain consistent work behavior, or honor monetary obligations.

· Lack of remorse, being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another person.

Well, I don’t know about all this. They say certain traits are associated with psychopaths, and then they say CEOs, who must have had to work with people and plan ahead, as well as avoiding certain bad behaviors, are psychopaths! Same with surgeons.

I feel like either their diagnostics or their applications are off somehow.

The APA voted in 1974 that homosexuality would no longer be considered a mental disorder. 1974 was a very bad year.
So today we have specimens like ‘Rachel’ Levine, Sam Brinton, Tyler Cherry and US Representative McBride appearing in public in dresses and insisting we call them “ma’am”.

There are plenty of psychopaths and sociopaths among humans, and the internet gives them a means by which they can act out their worst inclinations anonymously.

There is a category of online game players, for example, known as “grief players”, whose sole goal is to ruin the game for everyone else. South Park did an amusing episode on this with regards to World of Warcraft, where a mystery player had gotten himself to a very powerful lever, and just went around killing all of the lower players for the hell of it.
