New findings in the Idaho college murder case have emerged.
Attorneys for Bryan Kohberger—who has been accused of fatally stabbing University of Idaho students Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin at a rental home in 2022—said an investigator discovered DNA evidence from three individuals under Mogen's fingernail.

What does LR stand for?
Likelihood Ratio?
Means it could be him or maybe not.
DNA in real life does not work the way it is shown on TV.
I’ve searched and searched that article for an original explanation of those initials but it’s just not there. I wish this whole using initial thing would stop, I’m constantly looking up initialized things.
I just don’t know if Likelihood Ratio would be it? Maybe?

I wonder if the other two DNA samples under the nails are from the other roommates that were murdered.

It’s a badly written article; they shouldn’t use abbreviations or acronyms without explaining them.

They seem to indicated that they have a couple of other people who are just as likely to be one of the scratched as he is.
Before using initials a phrase is supposed to be spelled out to introduce the reader to the subject being discussed but that would require educating American students and we all know that education is the product of the white mans racism.
Well...thats not saying much. Lots of girls when I was in college had my DNA under their fingernails. Just sayin’

I only chose it because it fit the post about mixed DNA, and it uses the term ‘Likelihood Ratio’ in that context.
The lazy ‘journalist’ you questioned just took a short quote without bothering to explain what it meant.
How old is that DNA?
How long does it stay under fingernails?
Did she play sports, do makeup or hair for friends, act as a greeter for a gathering, etc.?
