You know you should develop a regular exercise routine, but you lack motivation. Promises to yourself are quickly broken, and you never establish enough of the workout habit to experience any rewards.
Exercising as you age is important. It’s not only good for physical health to help prevent falls or enable you to do basic tasks — exercise is also superb for the mind.
“If you want to be cognitively active, it is so important to be physically active,” explained Dr. Amy Eyler, a professor of public health at Washington University in St. Louis. “There is a such a strong connection between these two behaviors.”

My grandpa who lived until 91 went to the bathroom and had a heart attack and passed. He always told me do not be sedative always move. Even if you're at home. I took his advice.

Many older folks die on the pot after straining to go #2. This can cause the heart to fail or seizures. Learned this from several nurses.

My BIL is a doc, was on a tour group in Europe. Wife of another group member came to his room in a panic, her husband had this happen, apparently had an aneurysm rupture. BIL said it was the worst feeling in the world, there was nothing he could do but watch the man die before paramedics got to him.
