Nervous travelers have been worrying about taking to the air given the recent airplane crashes in the news.
Even so, one man with aerophobia, or a fear of flying, believes there’s nothing to be afraid of — and he’s on a mission to help others address their concerns.
Brian Morris of Salt Lake City, Utah, created “Flight Deck: Fear Of Flying Flash Cards” to help anxious flyers calm themselves about takeoff procedures and the travel experience.
“In light of the recent flight incidents and accidents, I know firsthand how these events can evoke fear and uncertainty in many individuals,” Morris told Fox News Digital.
Aerophobia affects more than 25 million Americans, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

...or “Airplane” bit
This used to happen all the time when I was a kid and traveled to Italy on chartered flights full of Italian-Americans. Thought it was standard practice until I flew domestically in the US for the first time.
Latinos do it a lot too, must be a Catholic thing.
If I can’t afford business/first class seats for next trip, I will not fly. Period. Had enough of standard class conditions. On one recent flight there was a very sick child in seat behind me and the plane was full. The child was in pain and cried loudly every 10-15 minutes. I rarely see young children in first class.
If you see DEI in the cockpit, best not to fly, at least if you’re going to a tricky place to land (such as DC, or during a Toronto snowstorm).
,,, I remember way back in 2012 I was on a flight from LAX, passed through Phoenix and got another flight to Kansas City. I'm not from the US. The carrier was US Air, which has been out of business now for ten or so years. I was impressed that they called up servicemen/women whether active or retired to board first.
Beat me by eight minutes! :-)
In light of the recent flight incidents and accidents,I gave it up 20 years ago.
lol....It was a whole bunch of Italians...the Agent was Italian...all her cousins and us...plenty of pepperoni on board...lol
I find that a few days before flying I get all stressed out.
Its not because I fear flying its because I always get jacked up by TSA. I find if I have a few classes of wine before I get in line I rather enjoy the free full body massage I have come to depend on.
“I don’t fly mainly because my ears feel like they are going to explode. I’ve tried everything. Nothing worked.” My experience exactly. Didn’t used to be that way. Are they not pressurizing planes like they once did?
“I always get jacked up by TSA”. Me too, I don’t think they like blonde, American men.
Aisle seat, naw. You can’t see the engine on fire.
If you have never flown on a prop job, even a jet prop, it’s a different experience. Hard to explain, just different.
Having a smoke and a drink. Dean Martin rocks.
Altitude and Airspeed are two of Your best friends. You just didn't know it yet.🤠
Never encountered the word “aeophobia” before—it should mean “fear of air.”
My wife isn’t a fan of flying so I always tell her to watch the stewards/stewardesses. I get nervous when we’re told no service because of turbulence.
I’m not sure some people are up for reading about a female pilot’s doubts and fears around flying right now...
