If you were going to question a candidate for public office what would you ask?
I ask because I am aiming toward creating a standardized test for anyone who aspires to public office.
I am also exploring how to make that test mandatory for anyone who applies, and to make the results public.
So have at it.
-------
You have presented yourself and may as a result swear a legally binding oath that you are willing to uphold and defend the Constitution of The United States of America.
You must now give answer to the people among whom you wish to effect and advance public policy by way of this examination.
The results of this test will be available to every citizen whom you are given to serve, and your fidelity to the oath of office will be under judicious scrutiny from the time you enter office to the time you leave it either voluntarily or by force of law.
At bottom, we cannot have people on any ballot who have a tendency for incompetence in the way of civil conduct. Maxine Waters and her ilk should never be on a ballot, given the manifest calls for violence in the streets.
Are you a Patriotic America loving American, or a Communist Democrat?
Explain in your own words what is the difference between acright and a privilege.
In your own words, what makes citizenship in The United States different from citizenship in another country?
In your own words state the purpose of having the very Constitution you would swear to uphold and defend.
That’s what this test should ferret out. What questions will do that?
Political leaders have to make tough decision between competing spending priorities. When confronted with a tough decision on spending what would be your top concern.
1. Is it in line with Constitutional assigned powers to the US Fed Government
2. Making sure Defense/Veterans issues is a top priority
3. Making the top priority is Federal spending on domestics issues.
4. Works towards balancing the US Federal Budget by “pay as you go” budgeting rules and eliminating base line budgeting.
5. All of the above. (Trick question, anyone picking this should be an automatic NO since they are no leader)
That was my question, but I’ll work on one.
Ask about the issues that matter to the people.
Balanced budget
Securing Elections
Taxes
Campaign Finance reform
Lobbying
Abortion
1st Amendment
2nd Amendment
Reducing Regulation
We only have the rights that we are able to defend.
We are only as free as we make the effort to know why.
Where’s the Constitutional requirement?
Who prepares the questions?
Who grades the questions?
Where’s the Constitutional requirement for these gatekeepers?
These gatekeepers since they can determine who is eligible for office now have more authority than the voter. An elite class is now defined! Where in the Constitution is such an elite defined or empowered?
If they can’t answer truthfully, they’ll just lie. Politicians are very good at lying.
Actions speak louder than words; a person’t history needs to be examined, rather than a questionnaire administered.
If I have to have a photo I.D. to drive, buy alcohol, fly, and enter a govt. building, why don’t I need a photo I.D. to vote?
1. How many genders are there?
2. Is climate change a hoax or a major issue?
3. Do parents have a right to influence what is taught in schools?
This is a complete waste of time unless you ask them live and hook them up to a lie detector.
Are you a dirty stinking lawyer?
Have you ever worked in the private sector?
Provide your own definition of the word “corrupt,” and explain when corruption is acceptable.
Those are largely, but not completely partisan in nature. Please, if you have time, craft questions to sniff out the fundamentals.
The object is to preemptively filter out those who stain their oath with advocacies contrary to our self-governing, like “we need to take this to the streets.”
Exquisite! The case scenario essay is bound to be revelatory. We need to know.
It will form my basis for any followup question.
You don’t understand the incentive pattern here. The people who pick who runs (once you’re past the very bottom) are political consultants. The key is NOT taking a test. Or molding into the twisted form a consultant will accept.
