Save the crop tops for Florida's beaches and keep your feet in your shoes as Spirit Airlines is cracking down on 'inadequate' clothing on its flights.
On Wednesday, the company quietly updated its contract of carriage for passengers, which includes updating its dress code for passengers flying the budget airline.
The new rule dictates that a guest 'shall not be permitted to board the aircraft' if they are 'barefoot or inadequately clothed.'
Among the examples of inappropriate travel outfits include: see-through clothing, exposed breasts, buttocks, or other private parts; lewd, obscene, or offensive clothing and tattoos.
The new regulation comes after multiple incidents of passengers being confronted over their attire.

,,, I'd make a point of flying with them if they served the destinations I wanted. Who wants to fly with peasants?
I guess that means Senator Fetterman won’t be able to fly Spirit Airlines.
Don’t have to or have had to. I was an F/O on Frontier AL and knew a few crew members who flew Spirit, so I’m not surprised about passengers acting out. Fortunately I’m back to flying bizjets with a nice clientele.
Fetterman not allowed ...
And they broke out the drink carts if you were delayed on the tarmac.
And gave out decks of cards.
(Am I giving away my age?)
;)
Thanks for sharing that. Good for you. Wow, you’ve got that thing called Common Sense.
I hope the flying Karens are calming down after the election.
Slob Airlines?
Spirit gets a bad rap but Ive had nothing but good experiences, or at least not poor ones, on the airline. And if you travel without bags flying can be extremely affordable. True there are some human animals that fly but that’s true for all of the airlines. Flew from Chicago to Miami a week ago for $50 flat and no issues. Plenty of staff (5 attendants).
Frontier tried to charge me $20 to print my boarding pass at a ticket counter. Their website is unusable. Frontier has ticked me off ever since the lovely airline Midwest Airlines was absorbed by them.
Midwest used to bake cookies on board and had comfy leather seats. Frontier took them over and that’s long gone.

Note that this was only announced AFTER Trump took office. I suspect that they feared a Justice Department Civil Rights lawsuit if they announced it under Biden as it mainly affects the ‘disadvantaged’ of our society.
I have almost 40,000 hrs in commercial/cargo aircraft, I always flew in leather wellingtons, because at any given time, I maybe sloshing through 5-6 inches of jet fuel and foam. Dress like you may have to walk out of anywhere, because you may have to. Don’t wear nylon , it will stick to you skin in a fire, wear cotton and always wear a jacket.
That was when airlines respected passengers. Now they treat us like cattle without food. The airlines did this to themselves.
How about the full facial tattoos?
Can’t cover up with long sleeves.
I like this idea. Especially ban travel in flip-flops ! Why would anyone travel in those disgusting, smelly, dirty pieces of rubber? What if something happens to the flight. How are you going to walk out of anywhere in flip-flops ???
I had a window seat one flight, was thrilled it seemed the middle seat would stay open on a mostly full holiday time flight, but at last minute a young man boarded looked like he hadn’t slept, was wearing at least one day old clothes and he stunk horribly of body odor and who knows what. He made a comment about returning from ski or snowboard vacation and though he slept thru the flight, the odor did not.
Sure he paid for his seat, but when I paid for mine I surely didn’t ask for obvious lack of care offensiveness from next seat occupant.
Also encountered numerous other clothes, body offenses from fellow fliers at times. To the point I hope to never have to mass travel much again. Plenty of great things local to be discovered.
Travel/vacations are really just distractions from the important things in life.
Good Luck, Spirit....you are The Chuckie Cheese of the Skies!
