A New Age of American Interference in Europe
The New York Times ^ | Jan. 13, 2025, 5:01 a.m. ET | Katrin Bennhold

Elon Musk and MAGA are already disrupting the status quo, and Europe seems ill-prepared.

For the last decade or more, Europe’s governments have been trying to resist covert influence operations from adversaries like Russia and China.

Now they have a very different challenge: Fending off overt efforts by Elon Musk and Donald Trump’s MAGA movement to seize territory, oust elected leaders and empower far-right causes and parties.

Even before he retakes office, Mr. Trump is making threats — perhaps serious, perhaps not — to acquire the territory of NATO allies like Canada and Denmark. And Mr. Musk, the president-elect’s biggest financial supporter, is using his social media platform X to bring the far-right Alternative for Germany party into the mainstream and smear the leaders of Britain’s center-left Labour Party.

It is not clear if Europe’s political immune system has the antibodies to defend against these new incursions.

This is not the first time a Trump ally has attempted to build a bridge with the European far right. In 2018 and 2019, the Trump adviser Stephen K. Bannon held meetings with far-right politicians across Europe. But the political landscape now is very different. The governments of Germany and France have collapsed; far-right parties are on the rise in those countries, and are already in power in several others across the continent.

A senior official from the first Trump administration, who is in line for an even more senior role in the second, was blunt in his assessment: Europe, he said, has no idea what is coming its way.

‘A very rich person expressing his opinions’

Mr. Musk spent a $250 million slice of his $400 billion fortune to help Donald Trump get re-elected. He arguably had just as much influence on U.S. politics through his own notoriety and ownership...

But sending $300,000,000,000+ to Ukraine "to seize territory, oust elected leaders and empower far-left causes and parties." is not "American Interference in Europe."

You mean like Biden’s government and the rest of Europe have done in Ukraine?

So mentioning “immigrant rape gangs” and the systemic rape of hundreds of thousands of children; is somehow disruptive to Europe?

If only there was a cure.

What the New York Times really has a problem with is free speech.

...Donald Trump’s MAGA movement to seize territory, oust elected leaders and empower far-right causes and parties.

Once again, the Old Gray Lady can't simply report the news. Instead it prefers to use "charged" words like seize rather than negotiate, outst rather than not support, and far-right rather than conservative to describe anything that even suggests a conservative bent. It time of the NYT to stop pretending it's a newspaper and start selling subscriptions for what it really is: A liberal newsletter whose real value is to line the bottom of bird cages.

And the Europeans haven't been screwing around in US politics, policies and goals for the last two centuries???

We would be doing them a favor if we took them over.

Quote from the presstitute's article:
"Even before he retakes office, Mr. Trump is making threats — perhaps serious, perhaps not — to acquire the territory of NATO allies like Canada and Denmark."

At no point did PDJT threaten to 'acquire the territory' of Canaduh. When asked by a different presstitute about using the military to take Greenland and the Canal Zone, he said that he didn't rule that out. When asked about Canaduh, he spoke of 'economic coercion'.

The last time I check a dictionary, 'economic coercion' differed from 'acquiring territory.

The New York Slimes lies even more than 'PravdaKanaduh', aka the CBC, if that is possible.

The biggest threat to Europe are the self hating Christian hating white hating white liberals who have submitted to the Islamic hordes whom they invited. White liberals and ISLAM is the threat to Europe. Europe has recovered from two world wars. It will not recover from the Islamic invasion.

NATO is a great example of the US meddling in Europe. The US is obligated to defend European countries even if whoever is attacking them is no threat to the US. We should pull out of NATO to avoid meddling.
