This is absolutely crazy, y'all!
BREAKING 911:
200 passengers evacuated a Delta flight at Atlanta Airport after an aborted takeoff. Emergency slides were used, and 4 reported minor injuries, 1 hospitalized. Flight was headed to Minneapolis.
Why is everyone running through the snow in a mad dash like the plane is about to blow? What is going on?
Passengers exited the Boeing 757-300 aircraft through emergency slides and ground transportation was used to take them back to the terminal.
Four passengers reported minor injuries in the incident, with one transported to an area hospital, the airport said. The other three were treated at the scene, the airport said. The nature of their injuries was not immediately clear.
The FAA is investigating. We still haven't heard why the takeoff was abandoned, how anyone was hurt, and why the plane was stranded and why emergency exits had to be used.
Some reports are that there was an engine failure and possibly an engine fire right at takeoff, but this has not been confirmed by the FAA or the airline.
VIDEO AT LINK..............
They are optional, IIRC GE or P&W are also available.
Jet fuel is essentially kerosene, aka archaically ‘coal oil’ though it’s not made from coal any more.
It can explode, but like diesel, it needs help.................
Naah, it’s right around freezing. It was 20F just yesterday.
Looks like the Starboard (Right) main gear are not extended. Unless the Aircraft has gone off the side of the runway.

Someone had to post that 😂
Good point on the site! “Why is everybody running”?
Ditto. Who wants to be near tons of fuel engine fire no engine fire?
Where are the Boeing Blamers?
Pretty cold, if you’ve wet your pants.
IT’S COLD!.................
Oh yeah, that’s for sure.
The PW2000 powers all models of the twin-engine Boeing 757, and is the exclusive power as the F117 for the four-engine C-17 Globemaster III military transport. The PW2040 model also powers the U.S. Air Force’s C-32A, the military version of the 757.

Probably a dei maintenance problem.
Damn Egotistical Lieutenant Type A**holes.
Departs Even Later Than American.
Surely not another Boeing screw up?
If it keeps up Boeing will go under. We’ll all be flying on European planes. If we keep up we’ll be depending on China Air for our domestic flights.
It’s freakin’ COLD!..............
><
You just answered your own question of what is going on. Why did you even ask it?
Boeing’s not the only company so stupid they hired “Didn’t Earn It” (DEI) types, right?
A passenger auto has braking measured in the hundreds of pounds. Aircraft have braking measured in the millions of pounds.
Aborted takeoffs have an extreme amount of pressure exerted on the brakes to stop the aircraft. Brake shoes often turn to a red or white hot temperature. The likelihood of a fire (metal fire) is very high and the aircraft brakes usually have to be monitored or cooled with water for hours.
Expediting passengers off of the plane is a safety priority.

Boeing doesn’t manufacture the engines nor do they maintain them.
