From what I am seeing he was unsuccessful in getting the battery fire started.
According the Googles AI summary of an EV fire:
"An electric vehicle (EV) fire can reach temperatures of up to 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit (2,760 degrees Celsius), which is much hotter than a gasoline-powered car fire that typically burns at 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit (815 degrees Celsius).
EV fires are more difficult to extinguish than gas-powered car fires, and can require up to 10 times more water to put out.
EV fires are caused by thermal runaway, which is when a battery cell short circuits and releases flammable gases, such as hydrogen. The gases then produce more heat and flammable gases, which can heat nearby battery cells and create a self-sustaining fire.
The greater the charge on the car, the more violent and hotter the burn can be."
Thanks for the reference material! That is always appreciated.
Yeah, I was setting them off when I was younger than that. Tbey’re illegal, here. Too many 100 foot tall trees.
[How have you managed to avoid seeing them so far, they and his military service are all over the place.]
I’ve finally (this evening) seen a photo of him in uniform with a 10th Group (green) beret flash.

Steel doesn’t burn.
It most certainly does burn, carbon steel that is. When you use acetylene torch to cut steel it does actually burn the steel and afterwards you can see the slag as a result. Stainless on the other hand will just melt, it has no carbon in it.

Not all likely. He had explosives training. He also likely did not shoot himself. He may not have been alive when the truck was parked in front of the Trump building. These Tesla trucks can be driven remotely. His body may have been placed in the diver’s seat before the truck was driven to location.
“Accepted fire suppression techniques” are behind the times. I have watched videos of lithium fires and their “suppression.” It takes a long time and seems to be effective only when the lithium is all consumed. I watched another vid demonstrating how the lithium foil in a flashlight battery when dipped into water begins to burn furiously.
Apples and oranges. Li-ion batteries do not have lithium metal.
Water is the accepted fire suppression medium.
Li = Lithium from periodic table.
11”Li = Lithium from periodic table.”
And?
No. Not with what he was using.
The man knew munitions. Either he didn’t do it or he didn’t do it.
You must be from a government agency. That’s where fictive news and description come from
That was what most people figured when the story broke.
The doubts came later.
“You must be from a government agency. That’s where fictive news and description come from”
Just admit you know nothing about EV batteries and flunked 9th grade chemistry.
