The wife of the Army soldier who blew up a Tesla Cybertruck outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas Wednesday broke up with him six days before he killed himself inside the vehicle, according to law enforcement sources.
Matthew Livelsberger, 37, left his Colorado Springs home the day after Christmas following an argument with his wife over apparent infidelity, two sources familiar with the investigation told The Post.
His wife — who had a baby daughter with Livelsberger — reportedly told him that she knew he had been cheating, the sources said.
After leaving Colorado, Livelsberger rented a Cybertruck through the Turo app and made his way to Vegas, where he parked in front of the Trump hotel on New Year’s Day, detonated explosives stashed in the truck and shot himself in the head, Las Vegas police said.
With the new development in the case, investigators are probing whether the solider’s motive was purely personal rather than political as previously considered given the location of the detonation and choice of vehicle.
The FBI had been looking into the possibility that the bombing was politically charged because it occurred outside a hotel owned by President-elect Donald Trump and inside a vehicle made by the company of Trump’s close ally Elon Musk, according to FBI officials.

“Could explain a few things. Maybe.”
I might be able to rig up the batteries to light up the vehicle, but if I went around town trying to buy high explosives, as a non-Muslim, I wouldn’t get very far before being arrested.
likely story.
Also another story is out there that he sustained, and was treated for head injuries more than once explosions during deployments.
Something odd about this one. I think it was a dramatic suicide, rather than an attempt to kill people. He could have driven into the doors of the hotel before detonating, he coulda plowed through people on the strip. He coulda lit the fuse and stepped out with his AR and started killing people.
But who knows? That’s quite a coincidence that both guys were Army, and both hit on New Years Day, both in electric trucks, both rented from Turo.
These are crazy times... I’d sure be alert out there in public anymore.
What high explosives? So far the only apparent “explosives” were commercial grade fireworks, a 5 gal. can of kerosene and a 1 gal. can of white gas. Unknown how much fuel was in either can. Both cans barely had any paint burned off of them and neither of them appeared to be ruptured.
Or, just a country song.
Rented Cybertruck Blues
Well, I had a love as true as the stars above,
But I traded her heart for a stranger’s love.
Now I’m sittin’ here, lonely as the wind,
In this rented Cybertruck, thinkin’ ‘bout my sins.
Chorus:
Oh, the wheels hum low, but the road feels cold,
I lost her trust, now I’ve got no hold.
The future rolls on, but the past’s stuck in the dust,
Just me and this Cybertruck, payin’ for my lust.
She caught me out when the truth came ‘round,
Packed my bags and said, “Don’t darken this town.”
Her teardrops fell, but her eyes burned bright,
Now I’m drivin’ aimless through the lonesome night.
(Chorus)
A high-tech ride with no place to go,
Silent as shame, yet it’s all I know.
No honky-tonk tunes, no diesel’s roar,
Just a high-priced regret that I can’t ignore.
Bridge:
This truck’s got no soul, it’s just cold and clean,
Like the life I wrecked for a selfish dream.
Her love was gold, and I threw it away,
Now I’m stuck in this chrome coffin, payin’ every day.
(Chorus)
So here’s my song for the fools like me,
Who think love can bend so recklessly.
When you’re left with nothin’ but a hollow machine,
You’ll know what I mean—life ain’t what it seems.
Outro:
Oh, the Cybertruck hums, but it don’t ease the pain,
It’s a fast ride to nowhere on a lonesome train.
I’d trade this tech for her soft touch,
But all I’ve got’s this Cybertruck… and that ain’t much.
Color me skeptical. Doesn’t make sense for someone to travel from Colorado to Vegas supposedly because of his break-up with the wife just to blow himself up(and shoot himself!) in front of a Trump hotel while in a Testa vehicle. Does not compute.
Convenient
There were several people here on FR who anticipated this.
One other thing. If really set on building a bomb to do some damage and kill people, any SF soldier could -easily- build something more like a fertilizer bomb or some such that woulda been way more destructive.
He had the training to know his device would basically set off fireworks and ignite the gasoline for a healthy fire.
But he woulda known that wouldn’t be like an actual IED.
There seem to be some odd things about this one. I hope we get a trustworthy result from Trump’s DOJ.
There are strange things done in the desert sun by the men who moil for Musk.
Whoa!
Not bad. Not bad at all.
Agree. Very strange
When did he arrive from Germany back here? Is his wife living in Colorado Springs?
His family says he was a Trump supporter. And that he would know how to make a bomb, not the crude assortment found in bed of truck.
Was the Tesla truck a self driving vehicle?
So many strange things
I was expecting that SHE was the raving leftist, lunatic, Brandon voting cheater. Eh. 50-50 shot and I took it.
This is a busy week for action news and this Tesla bomb is such a puzzling story of contradictions and counter indicators that for some of us, at least for a while, it is drawing our attention much more than that huge mass murder terror event in New Orleans.
Why would a man commit such a horrible crime over a mere divorce? Millions get divorced each year without this.
Alex Jones has been predicting it for at least a year.
And more false flags are coming.
Nothing to see here folks. Please go about your business as usual.
