For the last week the only thing anyone on Twitter – and, by extension, the rest of the Internet – has been talking about is the H1B visa.
The fun started when Sriram Krishnan, brought on by the incoming Trump administration as an Artificial Intelligence policy advisor, mused about lifting country caps on the widely reviled H1B visa. This elicited enthusiastic support from a chorus of tech CEOs, who insisted that there is a severe shortage of skilled engineers in the United States and, presumably, the West more generally, which can only be met by poaching the ‘best and brightest’ of the world’s ‘elite human capital’ and importing it by the imperial ton.
Predictably – predictable to anyone who’s been paying attention, which apparently does not include tech CEOs – the tech bros running with this sentiment slammed face-first into a hard granite wall of No!
… It turns out, for example, that despite being capped at around 85,000 per year, the Biden administration was routinely bringing in ten times this number...
Economics and legality are distractions, chaff thrown up by one side or the other to keep attention away from the primal psychological forces that are actually at work:
The territory of one people being given to others.
In particular, the white peoples of the world being displaced and disinherited, as their lands, their institutions, and their infrastructure are taken from them lot by lot and job by job by colonizers from the global south.
That is, in the end, what it comes down to.

A really good way to get H1-B reform is to first have Musk, et al, post positively about the H1-B program to get the faithful fired up against it, calling the congressmen, posting articles, replies online and so forth.
Then have Trump & his admin agree that reform is needed and push it through over the voices of big tech & other large employers.
Is this 4-D chess or am I just rambling...?
Musk said that a simple way to solve the problem would be to raise the pay of H1B’s...he didn’t say how high or to what categories that would apply
Can you name one H-1B Indian worker in technology whose talent is so exceptional that they are irreplaceable by any American?
Serious question...
@citizen As many times as you’ve repeated that it looks like you’re rambling.
And if any titan of the corporate world truly wanted to change the system, they could instead say the hiring of foreigners by them is over and they will rehire any that were laid off (if this occurred) and replaced by so-called highly skilled H1-b people.
Nobody is more happy about this than the Democrats. They have the Republicans focusing on 65k workers, and the 10s of millions of illegals are off the table. They know what they are doing.
H-1B workers are paying taxes, and they aren’t getting welfare, or other benefits. And there are a tiny amount compared to 60 million+ illegals. This is a huge victory for the Dems.
Great post! Many thanks.
If Trump would end H-1B and curtail almost all LEGAL immigration I would say that would be worth the rest of his “agenda”.
You're an open borders fool who celebrates the replacement of Americans. My opinion of you has gone way down in the past week.
I hope this topic stays hot all the way to inauguration day and beyond. I have been waiting 30 years for this.
An H-1B worker can take there H-1B and go to any company they want, as often as they want. There is competition in their wages.
L1 Vida holders are trapped at their company, unless another company will sponsor a new H-1B.
I can't find any information on how many active L1s there are now, and they are unlimited.
These could be impacting salaries dramatically.

Doing so would affect their bonus.
The article asks the question of how many Indians does China take in to meet their tech needs.
Probably a few who work for multinational corporations but on a whole the Chinese can run their own computers.
They don’t pay SS/Medicare.
So for every H1-B those prigrams lose the (hugher pay rate) contribution of the American who was replaced.
And the price of housing icreases forvthere are peiple on USsoil who werrn’t here before.
And there are fewer white children because tge white worker who is now unemployed or underemployed is likely to have fewer children.
And all so a few sociopathic executives can go from multimillionaires to bikionaires (spelling intentiinal).
Sod off troll.
I winder what the crime rate is in legal immigrants vs. your precious illegals? You should give a big "in your face" to all the victims of illegal immigrant crime.
Also, you should to all the U.S. citizens are underprivileged because the government gives so much to illegals.
Why is it either or? Send 'em all packing.
I posted this to draw attention to problems with some legal immigration, such as Americans having to train their replacements to get a severance package.
Illegals and some legals can be problematic.
The point is Americans of all backgrounds are being replaced and forgotten.
This wasn’t posted so everyone could start attacking each other.
You insulted me, but I won't insult you. Do you think I'm racist, because I don't want these illegals? I don't care what race they are.
Why do you thin people who are against illegal immigration are "open borders?" I thought it was the opposite.
