Greg Kelly Calls for Hegseth to Drop Out, Backs DeSantis By Sandy Fitzgerald Pete Hegseth, defense secretary nominee, has "serious baggage" and is not the right pick, while Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is the "perfect fit" that President-elect Donald Trump needs, Newsmax's Greg Kelly said.
"No one's perfect, but it's a perfect fit," Kelly said Wednesday on his program, "Greg Kelly Reports," about Florida's Republican governor. "Administrating the Pentagon, the biggest federal bureaucracy, and making it lethal again and not woke and all those things. I think it's a perfect fit."
Kelly said he did not support DeSantis' run for the presidency this year, "but he's been a very good governor of Florida." "When you're the governor of Florida, you're responsible for a lot of things," said Kelly. "That is the kind of resume that really qualifies you to run the Pentagon. ... I think DeSantis, if the opportunity becomes available, and I think it's going to very soon, he should take it because he's not good at running for president."

This is one Trump should take to the mat. If he lets the R wimps roll him by getting Hegseth to withdraw without a vote, it will hurt his administration badly.
OTOH, forcing a vote and making the R wimps vote no if they dare gives him political capital. The R wimps want very much not to have to make a recorded vote on this one. McConnell doesn’t care because he is gone soon. But Cornyn and Ernst etc al would like to be senators again.
I think at this point those who are concerned about this appointment have had their say, and if even after those considerations, the president wants to move forward, then it’s his call and we should support his decision and help his agenda move forward as expediently as possible.
Will people stop imposing strict standards on our nominees. The other side has no standards. Stop playing with one hand behind our back. Hegseth said he’s a changed man. Nobody suspected him of anything when he was on Fox. Push forward with Hegseth and let him clean up the military. We have to stop caring what anybody thinks. This is a MAGA agenda and if you’re not on board - get the hell out of the way.
Except it makes a huge difference in what SecDef will recommend for funding and such, as well as what programs will be allowed to go forward.
We’ve only recently, belatedly and half-arsedly starting modernizing our surface warfare and land warfare sources, but we’re still dumping money into systems that don’t work, cost too much money and *do not support the infantry*. We have DoD leadership killing off the A-10 support aircraft without real replacement. We need an infantryman or similar in the job to tell the Perfumed Princes in the Pentagon to go pound sand and refocus our forces and allocation.
Infantry (Army and Marines, various special forces, potential space troopers) and supporting/protecting them should be the primary focus of our military. Not stupid multibillion dollar so called “littoral warfare” ships and ‘diversity.’

Kelly this is Trump’s pick not yours. Being on T.V. does not make you qualified to pick any candidate. Trump appoints not you.
Some of Force 2030, in fact a lot of it, makes sense if you see the mission as fighting the Chinese, which are almost certainly our next opponents.
Removing the tanks from the Corps, the biggest objection, makes sense when you realize that the all up M1, when fitted with the Trophy APS necessary for a tank to survive on the modern battlefield, weighs *more* than the Navy can deliver to the beach. Even before adding Trophy, the M1A2C was so heavy that you could only deliver ONE of them to the beach per LCAC.

Senator Joni Ernst (R) voted to confirm Lloyd Austin for Secretary of Defense who turned our military into a woke laughingstock but is refusing to say if she will confirm Pete Hegseth.
So she supports all this trash but doesn’t support a strong Conservative who will strengthen our military and hold the DC war machine accountable?
Then the moron should know how easy it is to have allegations like this brought against someone, and have it embellished by the media and RATS, when the person should be seen as innocent before being proven guilty. Kelly's a hypocrite pointing out somebody else's sexual allegations when he's had them thrown at him himself.
This Kelly comment in the article makes me laugh:

What did DeSantis do for MAGA except run against the man who created MAGA, ran on MAGA and was elected because he's MAGA?

Greg Kelly is a vet who used to be on Fox News. His father is a former NYPD Commissioner I think.
Now especially because of his input, I want Hegseth.
No more bowing to the lefts garbage they throw to make people retreat. It’s their standard MO and it’s time to say no more. I wish Gaetz would have stayed in as well.
