Belyatskaya, a Russian-born tourist vacationing in Thailand with her boyfriend, was unexpectedly struck by the wave Friday afternoon.
The footage showed her struggling against the currents and succumbing to the frothing waters.
A bystander went into the water to attempt to save her but was unsuccessful. His fate is currently unknown, the outlet said.

The end of the video shows her yoga mat floating on the waves.
If only she had stayed on her yoga mat she would have been fine.

I always wondered what happened to her after I dumped her. She had a whiney voice that grated on my nerves and when she had a couple of vodkas she would sing the Russian national anthem nonstop, hope she did not do that to you.

She has no IMDB page. One article refers to her as an “amateur actress.” But she was “aspiring” anyway and it’s sad that she’s gone.
Russia has an entertainment industry. Some of the stuff they put out is a lot better than the Marvel, DC, and Star Wars junk that we do.

It seems odd to me the pink yoga mat was not swept away as well.

For some reason, people think it’s like a movie and they’ll get up and walk away. In CA it was alway a problem along the rocky parts of the coast (which is virtually all of it!), no matter how many warning signs they put up. People would just go out and sit or stand on the rocks and watch the waves coming in and then suddenly…
