P.S.: I sent a link to a YouTube video, but you may not have a device that can play the audio. If you don’t, click on the “cc” at the bottom of the video for closed captioning so you can see a largely correct transcription of a possible solution for the missing audio.

I just got through a similar problem with the touch pad. Microsoft now has some very good tools and instructions to identify and solve most problems. May i suggest that you open an edge browser window and search for “Fix sound or audio problems in Windows” That should get you to the widows trouble shooter.
i recommend you have a pad and pen/pencil handy to make notes if needed. you may find it useful to have your cell phone camera handy to take pictures of instructions if you ave to move to other pages as part of the trouble shooter.
If you are not feeling like doing trouble shooting, you should be able to call the manufacturer to walk you through Device Manager and finding and updating drivers.

Dell and Lenovo both have good apps that update all their drivers on command. HP has one, too, but I don’t like it.

I upgraded x-gf computer and no good deed goes unpunished.
Sound device had no 64bit drivers. And I spent hours on this. Even worse it ended up I had worked with the guy who wrote the original 32bit driver and he just laughed at me.
I bought a 5$ USB dongle

I have realtek audio.. I would suggest removing the device in the device manager, then reboot and let it be rediscovered and the drivers re-installed.
This has worked for me in the past.

Many times upgrading software is in essence a fix for something that’s not broken. It requires learning how to use the new product and may require new hardware or technical adjustments beyond the user’s capabilities. Many businesses have caught on to this game, found it expensive to do the upgrades and retrain employees.
I am functioning quite well with Windows 7 and doing very well with antique software programs for what I do, and do well. And I quit security updates way back when MS tried to sneak Windows 10 in with an update.
I suspect someday I will go to W10, but never W11, for my understanding is that OS needs to go online or it deactivates itself.
