1) My windows 10 or now 11 did a windows update last night and somehow it completely lost Realtek audio so I no longer have sound. Tried downloading Realtek but no luck myself or a computer guy. Any suggestions, please.
2) Bought a new windows 11 and can't remember how to do anything. How do I put links to my favorite sites in a bar across the top of the screen so I don't have to search for them every time. There is no bar currently on the new computer.
3) I understand there is a way to get the old computer settings and whatnot transferred over to the new one but I don't think I ever registered it or it had any cloud hooey on it and I don't know a password to it but maybe it is somewhere.
4) Blah, why is my typing on FR is bold and can it be made regular typing? Sigh, I don't like changes except bringing back Trump.
Look for settings in your browser and check the box for showing the bookmarks bar.
Are you using Chrome?
Are you logged in?
Check the cord. Sorry I have a cat.
P.S.: I sent a link to a YouTube video, but you may not have a device that can play the audio. If you don’t, click on the “cc” at the bottom of the video for closed captioning so you can see a largely correct transcription of a possible solution for the missing audio.

Well, I’ll be. You must have sent good vibes because when I turned it on after reading your post, poof!, I have sound!!!! Relief, sigh. I had just posted the plea for help right after checking it for the hundredth time. Whatever, I’ll take good vibes. Thanks, LOL.
If things get whacky again, you may need to update drivers and the bios. I needed to do that on my work computer.

Yes, currently using Chrome.
Found the on/off for bookmark bar and it was already on but don’t see it. How do I move FR up to it? Thanks.
Four. Yes, she sat on the keyboard when it was just finishing the update even though I’d halfway closed the lid. But will always blame Windows.
An oldie but goodie.
Yes, I have thing that notifies of updates. Thanks.
Have you signed into chrome and turned on sync?
Get a newspaper subscription and every morning circle the day and date...at the top of the first page
i recommend you have a pad and pen/pencil handy to make notes if needed. you may find it useful to have your cell phone camera handy to take pictures of instructions if you ave to move to other pages as part of the trouble shooter.
If you are not feeling like doing trouble shooting, you should be able to call the manufacturer to walk you through Device Manager and finding and updating drivers.
Bkmk
Dell and Lenovo both have good apps that update all their drivers on command. HP has one, too, but I don’t like it.
PS. Sorry, I can’t comment upon the browser settings.
Instead of Edge I use the Mozilla FireFox browser. I have not updated from Win 10 to Win 11 yet.
Im not familiar with the idiosyncracies of the Win 11 version of browser.
