Trump Defies the #MeToo Movement With Cabinet Picks Facing Accusations

When he takes the oath of office in January, Donald J. Trump will make history as the first court-adjudicated sexual abuser to assume the presidency. But if he gets the team of his choice, he will not be the only one in the room whose conduct has been called into question.
Mr. Trump, who was found liable in a civil trial last year
of accosting a woman, has selected a defense secretary, an attorney general, a secretary of health and human services and an efficiency czar, all of whom have been accused of variations of sexual misconduct and, like the president-elect, deny them.
The rise of the accused to positions of power raises new questions about the future of the #MeToo movement that swept through the country and upended societal expectations in recent years. The kind of accusations that
took down titans of Hollywood, Wall Street, Silicon Valley, Washington, the news media, sports and state capitals have proved no obstacle in Mr. Trump’s selection process.
Rather than be deterred by such allegations, Mr. Trump seems determined to force a fight over them. He knew that
Matt Gaetz, the renegade Republican congressman, had been accused of all manner of sordid conduct, including sex with an underage girl, but tapped him to run the Justice Department anyway. He may not have known that
Pete Hegseth, the Fox News weekend host he named to preside over the Pentagon, had paid a woman who accused him of sexual assault, but has indicated that
he will stand by him.

The House Ethics Committee found that Gaetz's accuser was not credible. And the police found no evidence with which to charge Pete Hegseth when his accuser made her accusation.
This is lawfare and nothing more.
This is what the Democrats do.

If for no other reason to support Gaetz and Hegseth - the fact they send liberal heads a’splodin’ is schadenfreude.
Isn’t it funny they don’t mention the sexual misconduct allegations against Clinton, Obama, Biden and even Heels up Harris.

Democrats can shoot a woman on a movie set, drown a woman in an Oldsmobile, and go right on riding high. Republicans need only be accused of impropriety and they are anathematized.

Don’t care. One of our guys is accused of having sex with a whore - what democrats call a ‘sex worker’. Sex workers are democrat women and democrats defend them as virgins if a Republicans goes near one.
The WOKE game is men have to walk on water or be gay or trans where they can have a thousand hook ups a year and no one is allowed to say anything.
If a sex CRIME was committed the women should have two years to call the police or it’s just a he said she said...

Was/is the NYT concerned about Tara Reade’s accusations against Joe Biden?

Better than having homosexual sex in the Senate Hearing Room. I didn’t see a lot of liberals upset about that.

The whole #MeToo Movement was almost all predicated on their word (no matter how many years ago) was enough. No evidence was needed or wanted.

Gaetz was the victim of a scam, and even the FBI caught to plotters on tape and didn’t even try to make a case. The female was on a Sugar Daddy website.
Hegseth was the victim of a whore who overslept after doing him and stayed out all night. She accused him of rape to stay out of trouble with her hubby she cuckolded.
Cops refused to prosecute.
I’m not sure I see any “me too”. Unless they mean “Hey! I’m a lying whore too”.

Oh! The “Metoo” movement has returned? I thought that disappeared with Tara Reade’s credible accusations against Joe Biden?
