High-protein breakfast foods often seem like a smart, nutritious choice to jumpstart our day. They're hailed as morning heroes, offering sustained energy and keeping you full until your next meal. From protein shakes to egg white omelets, there are a variety of options that make it easy to add more protein to your mornings. But despite all their benefits, some high-protein breakfast foods can have hidden pitfalls that may compromise our weight loss efforts.

Many high-protein foods that seem healthy often hide ingredients like added sugars, unhealthy fats, or fillers that can undermine their benefits and stall weight loss progress. To stay on track, it's essential to know what's in your morning meal so your high-protein breakfasts can truly support your health goals.

It’s a start. How about, nothing in a package or bottle? No morning carbs that are unavoidable, and stop being afraid of good fats.

Also, since you mentioned Aldi........a word of warning about their frozen seafood......much of it originates from none other than china.

I don’t consume any of those. My breakfasts consist of a small glass of orange juice (as close to fresh squeezed as possible), and either a piece of toast with grape jam or a small bowl of mini wheats. That’s it. Nothing more.

I had open heart surgery on June 21 of this year, in cardiac rehab a Mediterranean diet was recommended, whole milk kefir was one of the items on the list to consume, it takes some getting used to, but it’s growing on me.

The other thing I have begun is making my own instead of buying a similar processed food item.

I’ve been buying frozen fruit and making my own smoothies.

I love Granola, instead of consuming the main processed granolas sold in grocery stores, I found a healthy granola recipe and have started making my own, it’s surprisingly good.

Exactly. I bet the ingredient list is one to two inches long and full of nothing but a bunch of chemicals.

Everyone that moves into southern NH countryside goes out and buys a chicken coop. Including my daughter and son in law.
All was fine until the racoon showed up. Then the fox. The coyote. The bobcat and the last straw who destroyed the coop and killed the last two chickens was MR BLACK BEAR.

There are multiple people I buy fresh eggs from for $4-5/ dozen. There is also a lady who posts them for free on the local Facebook page. You just have to be the first couple people there. They usually gone within a couple hours.

Wyman’s frozen wild blueberries from Maine & Canada I put on my Fage plain zero fat/zero cholesterol unflavored yogurt every morning.

Wyman’s ingredients are as follows:

Wild Blueberries

IMHO, they taste better than the high bush blueberries that grow on the bushes right in yard.

Greek Yogurt is fine as long as you DO NOT buy the flavored kind.
Especially the kind that has the fruit syrup in it.

I buy plain unflavored Fage Greek yogurt an add Wyman’s wild frozen blueberries.

I’m getting by with Winco frozen waffles and a slice of ham and a cup of coffee.

My son had chickens. Predators were checked by a couple of emus on the property. Nothing scares a predator quite like a dinosaur. The emus liked the chickens and followed them everywhere. Cats kept the rats and mice at bay.

Flavored Greek yogurt is no good now? I only eat the Zero Sugar type. Maybe I have to give it up now?

Thanks for posting this article. :-)

So basically anything pre-packaged and ‘ready to go’ (maybe with a microwave).

Instead, take 10mins and make something from scratch.

There are a few pre-packaged / ready to eat items at the link that the author recommends.
