After Donald Trump's decisive win over Kamala Harris in the 2024 US Presidential election, protests broke out in Philadelphia and Chicago.
According to Sky News, protesters in Philadelphia voiced concerns over women’s reproductive rights, trans rights, and gun laws.
RFI reported that a protester holding a sign that read “Fascism – Not Welcome in Philly” voiced concern over the election result, saying, “The outcome to the vote is extremely concerning.”
Another protester, Isabel, told RFI, “I will let people know that racism is not acceptable. Sexism, homophobia, fascism, are not acceptable in this country. I am upset and sad, I am terrified. I think a lot of people are.”
Cathy O’Connel, a woman from Philadelphia, said, “I went into last night feeling some shred of hope, and I think Philadelphia turned out the vote for Kamala, which is the reasonable vote”.
She further questioned how Americans could support someone “who runs on a campaign which is just about power for himself, power that he doesn’t plan to share, with anyone who voted for him.”(snip)
Meanwhile, In Chicago, members of the United States Palestinian Community Network opposed Trump’s win.
CBS News reported that Hatem Abudayyeh from the US Palestinian Community Network commented, “Our issues are with both parties… Both parties support Israel unequivocally.”
Protest organisers in Chicago said that the current administration had been warned that unrest would follow if the Gaza conflict continued and the US maintained its support for Israel. Abudayyeh said, “They are not going to be able to take for granted the people that are represented here, the movements that are represented here.”
As per reports, protesters marched through the streets, chanting slogans such as “Not My President,” “Free Palestine,” and “Fight for our freedom.” The demonstrations blocked key roads, resulting in severe traffic disruptions.

I heard the speech. That’s exactly what it was, a carefully crafted call to arms. I was shocked. Only a handful of people seemed to pick up on it outside of the usual paid protest organizations.
Insurrectionists, incited by Kamala...call ‘da cops, where’s the shyster lawyers, judges, jurors ...protect our “democracy!”
Well, technically they are right. He’s not their president. Until January 20.
Hey Brandon wasn’t ours either. Say that to them and they’d go off another screaming jag.
Election deniers!!
Lock them up for denying the election!
Does anyone have the image of the WAAAAMBULANCE?
Erupt? LOL. There’s 24 people at one protest and about 200 at the other. Pathetic.
Isn’t not recognizing the results of an election a “threat to democracy” and “fomenting an insurrection”?
Probably didn’t even go vote.
The left’s claims about “democracy” follows the pattern of all their other issues:
“The issue is not the issue. The revolution is the issue.”
They don’t even care about their “issues”.
It is the same thing...every time.
It is a waste of time to pay attention to phony baloney leftist “issues”.
Free flat screens yet?
But don’t dare call it an “insurrection”.
Oh, pi$$ off.
” ... Protests Erupt ... “
Clickbait
Not your country, either. Get out!
The second they invade any public buildings, throw every last one of them in jail. I mean, that’s what we do with “insurrectionists” now, right?
