Experiencing a city on foot gives you the freedom to amble from one attraction to another, discovering hidden bars, quirky shops, and lesser-known spots along the way. It’s also free and reduces your carbon footprint. But what makes a city pedestrian-friendly? In 2023, the sustainable living nonprofit organization Smart Growth America released their Foot Traffic Ahead report, which analyzed factors such as how easily residents in America’s largest metro areas can walk from their homes to amenities, the distances between blocks, and access to public transportation. So, lace up some comfortable footwear and explore the most walkable cities in the United States, according to the report.

Are LA and Chicago really that walkable?
More walkable than Philadelphia?
I think they forgot a prefix....UNwalkable...at least in these times.
Get out more, snowflake.
Walking in most of the listed cities requires an armed guard or pack a .38 or both.

Man Chicago can be a beast in winter walking
I notice no Minneapolis though u can walk downtown technically through buildings and street overpasses lol
If not then New Orleans from Bywater to Marilyn to the Quarter to CBD and west to Garden Dustruct and Uptown is beautiful interesting flat walking
Except May to October it’s steam room hot
And at night the dark parts are from sketchy to 100% fatal

Some of the clowns on this thread (someone even said they saw a "stripper" on the street) may have been in a city a half a dozen times for less than 24 total hours.
These folks stand out like a sore thumb. My family can spot them half a block away. Heck, sometimes I feel like mugging them and I'm a career LEO.
Folks, just realize that making yourself into an irresistible target, is half on you.
I think I’ll stay here in Delco, thank you very much ;)

Knowing the neighborhoods and situational awareness go a long way.
What about Charleston SC? I didn’t get there but it sure looks inviting in pictures.
DC used to be pleasant in spring and fall when I lived there. Especially Georgetown.
True on both
Been in all of them years ago but you couldn’t pay me to visit it any of them ever again. Liberal shitholes every one of them.
All of those cities suck.
lol
Yeah I see people all the time I wish to smack too
But our better angels…,
