Folks, advice needed:
I live in South Philadelphia, the heart of the inner city.
Some non-negotiable things: I’m not moving, I won’t surrender the ownership of my home, no surrender.
So, in anticipation of the Election, I’ve stocked up on batteries, lanterns, charcoal, matches, canned goods, fire extinguishers, cash, gold, candles, ammo, non-firing weapons, first aid supplies (wife is a Nurse) and gasoline.
Anyone better versed in this than I am have suggestions which I may have overlooked?
Already am, and if things go south, I kind of expect them to show up here.
I feel so blessed living in rural Alabama. Not by chance but by choice. Retired 10 years ago and made it a point to live where I can be without the fear of mobs looting and burning. I left the Houston area where I made a good living during my working years, wife and I are now very happy living on the side of as mountain in our cabin.

I remember my father filling empty Clorox bottles with water and putting them in the basement, around the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis...
I always suggest having a couple of extra can openers - they break sometimes, and I can’t use the old fashioned kind that my Grandmother managed into her 90s...

FR has had Prepper threads for a long time. I think we still have them.
The suggestions can be good for all kinds of emergencies, not just civil unrest; and a lot of them just reflect what FEMA itself suggests.
I did not know that, but right up my alley!
Water.
potable water
do not depend upon city water or any water delivery service

Cat litter. As pocketdoor sayes, if the water pressure goes there is nothing to flush the toilet. So after that last flush, put 2 garbage bags in your toilet and a few scoops of cat litter. Every time you go, cover it with more litter, but do not allow the bags to get so heavy that you cannot lift them out of the toilet. Store them somewhere until you get garbage service back. (Good luck!)

I am sorry to say this.
I lived near Scranton. Not even anything like Philly.
You must leave. If you have something anything- that is desirable they will kill you for it.
That means a sandwich. Your preparation will place a target on you. They will come after you because you aren’t frightened.
By preparing for assault, you are encouraging assault.
Your home in Philly simply isn’t worth it.
A Bible
Gasoline is good for 30 days, unless put in additive, then good for 2 years.
Powdered milk.
Ivermectin.
Big fire extinguisher.
Water in my bathtub always leaks out around the pug. Have to seal well.
There are all kinds of reasons that civil unrest might lead to disruptions in services. They don’t all suggest that someone’s going to invade your home and try to ‘kill you’.
People should reasonably prepare for all likely eventualities, and in the past Americans generally did.
Move all in your house that is valuable to another location?

Don’t let the pug in the tub, he must be knocking the plug loose. lol

Following the “fight fire with fire” principle, it seems the best defense against a mob with Molotov cocktails would be a flamethrower.
