Meta provides workers with $25 meal vouchers for use at the office..

Meta fired roughly two dozen staffers based in Los Angeles for abusing the company's $25 meal vouchers to purchase non-food household items...

Meta fired the workers last week after the company discovered that the workers were abusing its food credit system by using the funds to buy other household items, ranging from acne pads and wine glasses to laundry detergent.

According to the report, Meta staff are given daily allowances of $20 for breakfast, $25 for lunch and another $25 for dinner — similar perks to what other large tech companies offer workers on top of their typical compensation packages.

...

Meta staffer, who indicated that they had a salary of about $400,000 at the tech giant, said they had used the $25 meal credits to purchase groceries like toothpaste and tea at the Rite Aid pharmacy.

...

The staffer said in the post that they admitted to misusing the credits when Meta's human resources department began investigating the practice, and that they were later fired unexpectedly, saying it was "surreal,"

$400k salary and they need daily allowances (over $17k/yr tax free) for breakfast, lunch and dinner? The IRS should be looking into that to make sure they are "working" meals because that's the only reason they should get meal allowances.

On an even more serious note I saw an article a few days ago where FB was up to their dirty old tricks again.

One of their commies..I mean mangers admitted they were using algorithms to diminish the sharing of anti-Harris news posts.

An “Indian-Origin” software engineer named Jeevan Gyawali.

Most people traveling for work get something like that. its called per diem. food on the road when you have no choice but to eat out locally or at hotels. Standard business expenses.

And you had to provide receipts showing what meals you spent the per diem on.

I’ve become to realize that all leftists are corrupt and crooked (not just ill-informed). Imagine being paid at the rate these people are, plus given a food allowance, and then abusing it in such a way.

And every governmental agency is staffed with the same type of people. Trump is right (as usual). We need Elon Musk to head up a department to cut waste and fraud.

Yep, but this just seems to an across the board handout, not travel related. I’d be surprised if it’s not included in a W-2, it’s basically cash they’re being given as evidenced by the fact they were able to buy household items with it instead of food.

Maybe for some companies. The IRS has standard per diem guides for every city in the country that vary based on location. might be $85 or so for Los Angeles and around $55 for Tulsa. $70/day or whatever that number is that Fakebook provided doesnt seem that unusual. figure a typical breakfast is $15 easily for a breakfast burrito and a coffee/OJ and protein bar. $20 for lunch is a deli sandwich and a soft drink. a typical dinner in a hotel can easily hit $40-$50 in any big city. my industry doesn’t require receipts.

Just and excuse to cull the herd. These places are grossly overstaffed as Elon has proven. Anyone with one of these jobs better toe the line or prepare for the unemployment line. There will be a major re-alignment in these “industries” coming.

"Earlier this year, Zuckerberg said the layoffs weren't due to the emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) but rather because Meta, like other tech companies, had invested heavily during the COVID era e-commerce surge and "overbuilt" as a result."

Lies lies lies yeah. Dude lies like second nature, due to his close ties with the Father of Lies.

He is thinning the herd and will continue to do so as he attempts to be the first to harness AI using Meta/FB as "the killer AIpp".

He'll fail as he always does, the wealthiest failure of a human being (maybe not in all history, there have been others) -- but he is fugly lying about the reason he's firing people -- because he has invested multi-billions building AI data centers since the plandemic:

Over 26B by my count. And yet not so much as one of these will employ over 400 people to babysit blades and most of the sub-1B will barely have 100 employees.

Meanwhile Suckerberg is sucking up cheap electric in nearly every one of these locations, while demanding these power companies provide him an equivalent amount of purchasable solar and wind credits on their platform. Thus nearly every one of these locations that is not used to solar farms f'ing up their landscape is now having to deal with carpetbaggers leaning on local zoning boards -- usually staffed by well-meaning but not legally-enabled people -- to ramrod solar farms and wind farms into A-1 zoned space.

I guess it varies across industries. Investment banking used to be super generous with “business expenses” and entertaining clients.

When I watch YouTube videos,, there is ALWAYS a Harris political ad and I ALWAYS click to block it. I get a popup that I won’t see that ad again because I blocked it but then, the next video starts with the exact same Harris political ad - this is nonstop.

I bet you if I blocked a Trump political ad I would NEVER see it again. And this is with every single Harris political ad - I block them all but I see them over and over again.
