CNN’s Anderson Cooper was hit in the face by flying debris during his live coverage of Hurricane Milton in Bradenton, Florida.
The debris was later said to be a piece of styrofoam.
Cooper was doing a live hit by the water shortly after 9 p.m. when he was struck.
“The wind has really picked up,” Cooper said. “The water’s really moving. You can get a sense of just how fast the wind is moving there. You can see it in the light there. It is now just whipping off the Manatee River. It’s coming from kind of the north, I guess northeast. And the water now is really starting to pour over. If you look at the graph–whoa!”
The unidentified object then flew into the shot and hit Cooper in his face and chest.
“Ok, that wasn’t good,” Cooper said. “I’ll probably go inside shortly. But you can see the amount of water here on the ground. This is water from the Manatee River. It’s also water coming from the land as well.”
Nearly three million people were left without power after the massive storm made landfall near Sarasota on Wednesday evening.
Over a dozen tornados were reported across the state with multiple fatalities.

What a complete idiot.
Shame it wasn’t a brick
Taking one for the team.
Plywood would have been funnier....
Figured he’d be used to being smacked in the face with “something”
Do you suppose Milton did it intentionally?
He’s taken many shots to the face.
Didn’t he nearly get clipped by a flying stop sign or similar chunk of sheet metal, during hurricane coverage years ago?
Given the state of our ‘mainstream’ media - I wouldn’t be suprised if an intern was off camera with instructions to throw it at him...

Even styrofoam knows what a piece of trash Anderson Cooper is.
Side note to styrofoam: Violence is not always the answer, okay?
Look at the direction it flies in from versus the wind...and from underneath.
“That wasn’t good”
Oh hell yes it was! LOL!
I don’t want to minimize anyone who suffered damage or died as a result of Hurricane Milton.
Think back a couple of days, the media was calling for a Category 6 Hurricane designation because Milton was a storm like no other in strength and intensity all as a result of Climate Change.
When the hurricane hit land last night it did so as a Cat 3 storm at most and reduced in intensity as it crossed the state, to the point it was a tropical storm as it left the state and entered the Atlantic Ocean.
In fact, Desantis was on TV this morning and said, the storm surge from Milton was less than Helene that passed thru Florida a couple of weeks ago.
Hurricanes are nothing to fool around with but the way this storm was sold the public was a disgrace.
Uh huh. Bet it was staged.
I hope the Flying Debris was okay.
He’ll have to re do his make up
