Mike Johnson, the speaker of the House, got tripped up this weekend by a question that should not have fazed a high-schooler with a moderate degree of civic awareness: Who won the 2020 election?
Johnson and other Republicans say the question is a trap. But it’s one they have set for themselves.
When George Stephanopoulos asked Johnson on “This Week” to acknowledge that Joe Biden had won the election and Donald Trump lost it, Johnson complained that the ABC anchor was playing “a gotcha game.” He went on, “You want us to litigate things that happened four years ago when we’re talking about the future.” Sen. JD Vance (Ohio) had used the same dodge a few days earlier, during the vice-presidential debate.
On a second pass, Johnson said, “Joe Biden has been the president for four years. There’s not a question about this, okay?” He added 185 words on all the topics this exchange was keeping him from addressing. At no point did he say that Trump lost or Biden won.
What’s absurd is not the question but the fact that it has to be asked. All Johnson had to do to be able to move on to the topics he prefers was tell the truth, which can be done succinctly: Biden won. (He could have added an “unfortunately.”)
One reason the 2020 question keeps getting asked is that Trump himself won’t drop the subject. He recently claimed he won Michigan in 2020. He did not. A few weeks ago, he even said that only fraud had kept him from winning California.
The people Trump has gulled into thinking he won in 2020 are wrong about a lot of things, but give them credit for this much: If...

Excellent summary of the situation that satisfies the question yet leaves the lingering larger questions as discussion points to be explored with data like that in the initial reply by E. Pluribus Unum.
The asfe answer would be “I don’t think we know. That’s what January 6th was all about. We need to investigate.”
They should say “you’re asking the wrong question, you should be asking who stole the election.”
The WaPo lies. Don’t believe them, don’t trust them. Name one other presidential election where the counting of ballots were halted in the swing states, ~11:00 p.m., almost simultaneously (WI, MI, PA, GA, AZ)?
Hey WaPo, hey NYT, GFY.
Of course they know Trump won, we know that Trump won, and they know we know that Trump won.
IIRC, PDJT is suing little Georgie for defamation.
ABC soiled its toilet reputation once again during the Trump/Harris “debate.”
So why the hell do ANY Republicans appear on ABC fake news?
And also ask Democrats if they remember Joe Biden bragging before the 2020 election that they had the great voter fraud organization in history.
Exactly, they’re just playing right into the hand of the rat party.
Your numbers regarding the number of counties won is different from what I have recorded. I wish now I had recorded the source of my numbers. I think they were from the New York Times, but I’m not sure.
However, the total vote counts are the same. As you report, Obama won 69,000,000 votes in 2008 and Biden “won” 81,000,000 votes in 2020. That’s a 17% increase.
I looked up the population estimates for the years 2008 and 2020 with the U.S. Census Bureau data and found that the population grew only 9% during that time, but Biden is supposed to have won 17% more votes, almost double the increase in population. That’s very hard to believe.
He won... now ask them about Michelle Obama and her penis...
After you drop down into the less populous counties (around 30 on the lists), Obama's 2008 vote totals beat Joe's 2020 "vote" totals.
It's clear-cut.

It's clear-cut that they were rigging it somehow. I don't like to speculate on exactly how, but it looks to me like it has something to do with distance from a central point in the affected counties. Like, about an hour's drive [between 40-60 miles].
Everyone looks at the vote totals without looking at the map.
I find it hard to believe that they rigged in most of the 50 states. Here in Kentucky Trump won about 60-40 or better so I don’t think they’d bother trying to rig that.
But I believe they rigged in every battleground state.
They were rigging it for the popular vote count.
Just ekeing out a "victory" in the swing states by 10 or 20 thousand wouldn't cut it for the narrative.
I was doing my Obama 2008 Vote Fraud detector workup for Massachusetts when I noticed it.
"Why is there a massive turnout here in Massachusetts? The entire state is blue. Why bother?"
They needed the extra "votes" to tack on to the popular "vote".
Massachusetts 2008: Obama - 1,904,097 Massachusetts 2020: JoeTatoe - 2,382,202
The Tater got 478,105 more votes than The Lightbringer got in 2008. Half a million eager "voters"...
If I get some time, I'll take a quick look. Takes about a half hour to an hour, but I've got some auto work I have to do.
Same with Jefferson County.
