YouTube personality and Kick streamer Jack Doherty totaled his $200,000 McLaren supercar as he apparently texted and drove in the rain — while live-streaming himself.
Video of Doherty’s Kick stream shows the 20-year-old Internet star looking down at his phone in his hand as he drives along a slippery Miami highway Saturday morning.
Seconds later, Doherty loses control of the vehicle, screaming as he glides across the right lane and smashes into a guard rail. The video on the streaming platform goes white, and his cameraman in the passenger seat can be heard groaning in pain.
The two men can then be heard struggling to get out of the wrecked vehicle, with one frantically crying out, “Open the door! Open the door!”
The footage then cuts to Doherty examining his wrecked, wildly custom-painted car. The social-media star, who is now shirtless in the clip, kicks his mangled whip twice.
“All my money’s gone,” Doherty says before listing the upgrades he shelled out big bucks for on the vehicle, including a custom exhaust system and its paintball-gun-splatter paint job.
Doherty purchased the McLaren at the end of last year for $202,850.10, according to his YouTube channel.
According to Sportskeeda, there were 185,000 people in Doherty’s livestream at the time of the crash.

Yes, it works for those of us who wouldn’t do that stuff anyway, but not so well for the ones who would.
Also, being at the scene of an accident is a lot more visceral than seeing pics of one.
The 10 cents is interesting
You don’t eat yellow snow
You don’t mess with a junkyard dog
He was videoing the rescue as well. He could not let go of the camera...
The good news is the insurance company is off the hook.

Well, he is only 20 years old. I suppose he could be forgiven for blowing all of his money on a car he could not possibly be ready to handle.
But I won’t forgive him for driving it in the rain.
An experience driver might handle that car on dry roads but it would take a driver of supreme skill to drive it in the rain.
Even a 20 year old should know better.
20-year-olds have a tendency to think they are invincible.
A 20 year old dumbass kid who has never worked a day in his life but has been able to amass a fortune via a Youtube channel that has allowed him the ability to purchase a $200,000 McLaren......Then he trashes it........Life is a bitch.
Well said.
I agree.
I would bet a substantial sum that he did not
From this article he seems to be quite the arrogant a$$
What kind of MacLaren can you get for only $200,000?
Very good point...
Stupid cars to drive around a city. Now one of those twin turbo Acuras.....
anything for a click
I swear, I think I live on a different planet or in some alternate reality.
“He’ll make it all back and then some from YouTube views”
Maybe even a GOFUNDME
US Navy Training Film: "The Man From LOX"
It was a safety film on the safe handling of liquid oxygen, and it had a blend of intentional corniness, humor, sex and deadly in your face seriousness (at the very end)
It deterred every sailor I knew from playing around with liquid oxygen after seeing it.
The guy they show at the end apparently was working in a hot climate, and thought it was a good idea to put the venting end of the delivery hose inside his coveralls to cool off. It saturated him with oxygen, and when he lit a cigarette shortly afterwards, he went up like a roman candle.
“Noticed that— sobbing over his car, babbling incessant ‘bro-speak’... Good Lord.”
Yeah. Agree with you. Also the ‘bro-speak’ is as bad as calling everybody “dude.”
