Children with primary nocturnal enuresis may have vitamin D insufficiency and deficiency as well as vitamin B12 deficiency, according to a study published.
Hoda Atef Abdelsattar Ibrahim and colleagues examined the prevalence of vitamin D and vitamin B12 deficiencies in enuretic children. The analysis included 288 children seen at an outpatient clinic for nocturnal enuresis.
The researchers found that vitamin D insufficiency predominated (48.3%), while vitamin D deficiency was present in 31.3%. Vitamin B12 deficiency was seen in 25% of children. There was a stronger inverse correlation between vitamin D and the number of enuresis episodes per day than vitamin B12. A cutoff of 13.7 ng/mL for vitamin D was identified, below which failure to have dry nights was predicted. Protective factors for the absence of dry nights were higher vitamin D levels and behavioral treatment coexistence.
"Vitamin D insufficiency may be the most prevalent vitamin D abnormality in children with primary nocturnal enuresis. Vitamin D insufficiency may be more common in children with severe enuresis than vitamin B12 deficiency," the authors write. "This study may invite further research to examine the possible use of vitamin D and vitamin B12 as potential adjuvant therapies for children with primary nocturnal enuresis."

No need for adult concentrations.
Are your kids getting outside to get vitamin D?
During the summer. In the winter because of how far north we live there is no way to get enough vitamin D so we supplement.
I started taking vitamins and have felt much better. I apparently am not getting enough of what I need.
Magnesium Oxide, Zinc, Vitamin D3, B12, B1, Iron, Potassium, Turmeric Curcumin. The Vitamin D3 was a game changer for me. I have more energy.
I need more exercise. A good walk by walking around in a store feels great. Same for going to a park.
I start out having a good breakfast such as 2 eggs, slice of ham, 2 sausages, hash brown patties on most days or if skipped I have lunch such as I make pasta salad and my own spaghetti sauce with added hamburger over rice and chicken soup. Dinner is a variety like hamburger, chicken, potatoes and vegetables etc.
I do have too many snacks like chips and soda in-between...
My wetter was vitamined.
And outside.
12 with medical intervention before it stopped.
Why don’t they just call it what it is - bedwetting...
Maybe that is why so many DEMS are bedwetters these days.
You might want to replace the Magnesium Oxide with either Magnesium Glycinate or Citrate. Both are more bio-available. And most definitely add Vit K2 to the Vit D3 and Magnesium stack to keep the calcium in the bones and out of your soft tissues. Just an FYI.
