Day #26 of the Top 50 songs on my iTunes playlist -- ranked in reverse order by play frequency from #50 to #1 and presented here on a series of FR threads. I've been posting them here on a new thread that compiles the growing list one day at a time over the course of several months. I only post them on weekdays and may miss a day or two here and there, so this will probably be done by early November.
And to show my gratitude to the FR management for giving us all a forum to post vanity threads like this, I'll be making contributions for both the 3rd and 4th quarter fundraisers. I would encourage everyone on these threads to do the same! :-)
Have fun with this, folks!

I'm pretty sure this is also the first song that also shows up on another Freeper's "Top 50" list (SamAdams76).
"And once in a night I dreamed you were there; I canceled my flight from going nowhere."
Let me know if you'd like to be added or removed from the ping list!
That is one heckin’ good play list.
Thank you! We’re just getting halfway through. :-)
Brings back good memories, Saw them live October 5, 1979 at Buffalo Memorial Stadium.
You can’t go wrong with those first two Cars albums.
“Time Stand Still” by Rush
Great song that gains more meaning the older you get.
Looks like I have some more catching up to do . . .
33 The Girls Next Door - Pat Metheny Group
32 Mistress Moonshine - Climax Blues Band
31 Alley Cat - Bent Fabric
30 Sunshine - The Archies
29 Keep On Lovin’ Me - The Whispers
28 Get Here - Oleta Adams
27 Hypnotized - Fleetwood Mac
26 Elizabeth - David Pack
Ha — no worries. You’ve got a good list running there, too!
My #26 song is also in the New Wave vein, and has a connection with cars as well! "Are Friends Electric?" by Gary Numan and the Tubeway Army. This came out a year before his big American hit "Cars" but this was playing on Boston rock stations in the fall of 1979. I think it's a much better effort than "Cars".
