The 'horrific' reason fentanyl deaths are going down (running out of people to kill)
Daily Mail ^ | 10/01/24 | Emily Joshu

Deaths from fentanyl appear to be going down for the first time in a decade after reaching astronomic levels - but experts warn there's a 'horrific' reason behind it.

They say the drug is simply running out of people to kill, after claiming the lives of around 320,000 Americans in the last decade.

Last year, around 75,000 people in the US were killed by the lethally potent drug, which was slightly down on the previous year and the first time deaths have fallen annually since 2011.

Dr Caleb Banta-Green, an addiction expert at the University of Washington, says King County, which includes Seattle, is like a microcosm for the rest of the country.

Deaths from fentanyl there plummeted nearly 10 percent at the end of 2023 compared to the last quarter - but Dr Banta-Green believes the outbreak is 'self-extinguishing'.

He told local news station KUOW: 'There are only so many people who are using a drug, and when it has that high of a lethality rate, it will eventually — in a really horrific way — start to self-extinguish itself like a forest fire.

'So, it's literally burning out the fuel. The horrible thing in this instance is the fuel is people.'

The reason why alcohol was such a deadly addictive drug to early Indians, but not so much to Mediterranean people, was because the latter, over thousands of years of wine use, had bred out people most susceptible to alcohol addiction.

Let them, legalize it and weed out the weak of the species. Most drug abusers are mentally impaired liberals and parasites. I never understood the war on drugs.

The war on drugs is a waste of taxpayers money. For those who want to tempt death for a high time, they will find a way, and there will always be those ready and willing to supply the drugs for profit. No amount of government intervention, policies, laws, will change human behavior. I think there is some truth to this article, but perhaps the coverage of the danger and very high death rate has more to do with the decline of fentanyl use, and I am always sceptical of gov. stats.

I have a novel idea. How about just not use dangerous drugs for kicks? Then you won’t run any risk of overdosing and dying. I know, I know, radical concept.

If only there were a way for the drugs to not somehow get in to their bodies.

It’s as if they’re putting it into themselves or something.

“They say the drug is simply running out of people to kill,“

It occurred to me to wonder about this a few weeks ago. It seemed to me to be likely but I never heard anyone ever talk about it.

weed out the weak of the species

Maybe that's the real reason they call the onboarding drug "weed". Demonrats have totally mastered the art of brainwashing young people, to the point of stupidity for life. Maybe they could put that evil skill to good use, programming children to not try brain wrecking drugs even one time. Trying a drug "just once" is like deciding to go off the mountain road of life. If you make that fool's mistake, you're on your own.

How about just not use dangerous drugs for kicks?

Not a novel idea just a simplistic unrealistic one. If you've ever spent over 5 hours with a loved one in need of cardiac care at the emergency room, you'll get an eye opening experience (it was for me). Someone needing cardiac care seems urgent enough for me but the druggies get the express lane and are immediately wheeled back to the back after walking in while we waited and waited and waited. Also we needed a room (for examination and overnight stay) but guess who filled up all of the rooms? The novel idea is to give them a shot of naloxone and send them outside in a tent area and if they make it until morning discharge them otherwise call the morgue and let real patients get real medical treatment.

That is not true at all.

Weed is rampant in our society. Conservatives as well as leftists.

Narcan has become a widespread antidote at the same time. Plenty of zombies still standing.

The war on drugs is a waste of taxpayers money.

It was really a war on the people. And the added incentive of civil asset forfeiture - essentially against the law to carry money. Diamond dealers, people shopping for vehicles wanting to pay cash and other businesses (legitimate ones) get caught up in this. Greed and stupid laws punish the wrong people sometimes.

Did a moron write this? The stupid are being eliminated and that’s a horrific reason why less people are dying? Maybe today’s kids don’t want to die and they are better educated on the dangers of illegal drugs? And that’s horrific?

Without fentanyl we wouldn’t have had the George Floyd mostly peaceful riots.
