Many mainstream and conservative Jews are ready to rally around Andrew Cuomo if he runs for mayor, prominent Jewish activists told The Post.
“Cuomo is a moderate with a deep history with the Jewish community and a long record of fighting for issues we care about — combating antisemitism and strong support of Israel,” a source said — just days after embattled Mayor Eric Adams appeared in Manhattan court Friday on sweeping corruption charges.
“The Jewish community is very anxious for Cuomo to jump into the race. A lot of us will jump in for him,” said Jewish organizer who requested anonymity, adding he has discussed a candidacy with Cuomo.
Another Jewish advocate said, “Cuomo will immediately be the top candidate in the Jewish community.”
The development comes as even some of Adams’ supporters have expressed serious doubts that he can survive politically and win re-election, regardless of the outcome of his criminal case.
“I’m skeptical that Eric can survive and make it to next year’s election,” said Michael Nussbaum, former president of the Queens Jewish Council and a board member of the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York.
“I would support Andrew Cuomo. We know he can manage and govern,” said Nussbaum, adding that he spoke to the ex-gov last week.
Another Jewish leader said Adams “is toast” in terms of trying to win re-election.
The city’s Jewish population was listed at 960,000 out of a total city population of about 8.3 million, according to a recent report. Jews could account for 20% to 25% of a Democratic primary vote, said Jerry Skurnik, a voter data analyst who runs Engage Voters US.
That large voting bloc was a major reason why Adams was successful in his 2021 campaign.

Apparently issues the "Jewish community" in NYC care about doesn't include the Noahide Laws.
If you drive on an American highway, that’s a direct copy of the German Autobahn, an idea Eisenhower saw when in Germany and applied here, and which was originally from Adolf himself.
If you use a highway, you’re a bad person that supports Nazi’s. You’re logic, not mine.
Not true and ludicrous. Just one more attempt to blame everything on Jewish conspiracies, here even exterminating Jews was a Jewish conspiracy.
Today, the Jewish vote is behind the Democrats,
No it isn't. NYC is a one party town so this thread is about who would win a hypothetical Democratic primary.
The Eternal Jew is a disgusting film designed to motivated Germans to support exterminating Jews. Why you would try to amplify that filth on this forum - even after the mods deleted your first attempt - is beyond me.
You don’t read much do you?
There were many variations/twists to this, in some cases some of the elites and wealthy saw Hitler as a solution to the economic depressed economy of Germany, which he indeed did revitalize with massive programs once he seized power.
You need to realize, there were many even here in the US that saw Hitlers brand of national socialism as a solution to our economic problems and even ideas like eugenics were popular here as well. Charles Lindbergh, Ford... Many folks that were educated, celebrities, supported this ideology, even here.
Some Jews saw themselves as German first and Jewish second, some were patriotic even decorated war heros from WWI. Horrible how they were stripped of their status by the Nazi’s. In some cases, even well into the war you had some Jews take on the attitude of “if you can’t beat them, join them:” https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/arts-letters/articles/ellen-feldman-nazi-germany (staggering numbers).
There were many twists and turns to this, but yes, Hitler did enjoy support from many Jews early on even though he was very overtly anti-Jewish.
I agree with you on the population centers. The problem is that the votes are concentrated in the population centers. Black flies and deer don’t vote so essentially upstate NY is as much of a Democrat vote plantation as NYC. There are even a few Republicans in NYC, but you just don’t see them. Spread out like in upstate you see them.
Next, regards your questioning of the Jewish support for Democrats:
The Jewish vote has been overwhelmingly Democrat may that be at at most communal levels or the national level.
There are some theories and I have my own as to why that is, but that is beside the point. The bottom line is that YOU ARE FACTUALLY INCORRECT AND THAT CAN BE PROVEN.
When something is a matter of fact, it’s not a “theory” anymore.
The Jewish vote went for Biden.
The Jewish vote went for Hillery.
The Jewish vote went for Obama.
The Jewish vote went for Kerry.
The Jewish vote went for Gore.
The Jewish vote went for Clinton.

The Jewish vote will go for Harris in 2024 and it will do so with a (((HUGE))) margin:

Even Trump knows this even though he is the candidate that is more in step with their interests: https://www.jpost.com/us-elections/article-811802
And once again, why would a Jew vote for people that are split in their support for Israel vs. the Palestinians, support mass immigration from predominantly Muslim nations, support folks with wild ideas regards LGBTQIA, abortion, government/social secularism... none of which are in step with Noachide Law. Since you won’t know what I’m talking about: https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/the-seven-noachide-laws
Yes you are right, it’s disgusting when people basically vote for their own self destruction, repeatedly.
There is no point in arguing someone that attempts to fixate of form (pretend feelings / offense) vs. function (substance) when losing an argument.
I think my point of Jews supporting someone that very openly is not in step with their best interests and this being an eternal problem for them, is self evident.
I do not know why I even waste my time writing you.
So, thank you and good bye.
