I still have my Orange 1979 Midget, in my garage and yes it runs and drives...
I sure don’t remember MGs looking like this!
meh. or rather, mewrh.
Harley owners should buy them. Then they never ever have to worry about being in an accident since they will be wrenching in the garage 24/7.
MGs are now indistinguishable from Honda, Mazda, Nissan, Toyota, etc.
Chinese-owned British automaker… built … in Mexico
EV ? No bueno
“and yes it runs and drives...”
That’s a rare commodity my friend......every one that I’ve ever seen was a pizza chit.
As I understand it, you can increase reliability by replacing components like starter and alternator with Japanese manufactured ones......is that true?
Stranger: Why do you ride a Yamaha and not a Harley?
Me: I don’t like working on motorcycles..................
British auto = junk (’cept maybe Bentley)
I've heard that an AC Delco alternator for a Chevy Chevette is a direct replacement for the factory item on an MGB, and it will actually keep your battery charged, unlike the factory item.
Even British Racing Green! Husband drove it out of the showroom without knowing how to shift standard. Back of his shirt was soaked. He learned to race in gymkhanas with a book that showed how to learn on city streets. It drove tilted in the winter since it wouldn't fit in standard ruts. And I still remember my heart in my stomach when I saw him trying to start it in the winter with a barbecue grill underneath.
Mexico. We need a border tax.
Let me guess, original MGs used Lucas electrical components. Yes, Lucas, the Prince of Darkness, the inventor of the short circuit, the first to offer three-way headlight switches, dim, flicker, and off, and so on ad infinitum.
Hecho en Mexico.
I learned how to drive a stick all by myself, no one to teach me, out of necessity. Took about 15 minutes.
I was left by myself to take a friend’s car home after he went to work as a truck driver. Didn’t know it was a stick-shift until he was gone and I had about 20 miles to drive it back to his house.......................
Put a 200% tariff on them.
Drove a midget for a week. Never could understand why the Brits would build a car that wouldn’t start in the rain.
