Even British Racing Green! Husband drove it out of the showroom without knowing how to shift standard. Back of his shirt was soaked. He learned to race in gymkhanas with a book that showed how to learn on city streets. It drove tilted in the winter since it wouldn't fit in standard ruts. And I still remember my heart in my stomach when I saw him trying to start it in the winter with a barbecue grill underneath.
I learned how to drive a stick all by myself, no one to teach me, out of necessity. Took about 15 minutes.
I was left by myself to take a friend’s car home after he went to work as a truck driver. Didn’t know it was a stick-shift until he was gone and I had about 20 miles to drive it back to his house.......................
At 17 degrees and below, mine would never start without a battery jump.
