If I was going to have a martini years ago I would have a Bombay Sapphire.

Sapphire was too flowery for me. Gordon’s was my go to.

Gunpowder Irish Gin is nice if you like citrus.

Personally I think most gins taste like fuel oil, but Tanqueray is drinkable.

I was into G&T a couple of years ago. Did a quick gin tasting and settled on Beefeater.
Then found that it was better to make my own with cheap vodka and juniper berries and some other things.

I was never really a gin person until recently, being more of a scotch and rye fan. My youngest daughter liked gin and tonics. She introduced me to a Japanese Gin called Roku. I was to say the least pleasantly suprised.

Hard to beat gin and root beer with a twist of lemon.

For martinis I like Hendrick The cucumber and rose is really nice. I use Bombay Sapphire when u want to be cheap for martinis and gin & tonic. My preferred all purpose gin including sipping is Plymouth regular strength. St George has 3 nice gins as does Uncle Vals (like 2 of the 3. Pass on peppered).

I was at a social function last fall. Three women in the bar line ahead of me. One ordered a Hendricks. One ordered a Bombay. One ordered a Beefeater. I ordered a Tanqueray and then criticized all of their choices to their faces.

Gin is my favorite liquor. I have a “little black book” (not one filled with women’s names and numbers, but instead with gin-drink recipes).

Some really great gins have already been mentioned. To this list I would add Empress 1908. In fact there is a drink named after it called the Empress Watermelon Crush (of which I had a few this summer). Good stuff!
