Selena Gomez 'grieved' because she can't conceive children due to medical reasons

Selena Gomez "can't carry" children due to medical reasons.

The Wizards of Waverly Place actress, 32, recently said she was planning to adopt a baby before she met her music producer boyfriend Benny Blanco, 36, who she has been dating since 2023. She has now revealed she has had to "grieve" her inability to naturally become a mother.

She told Vanity Fair: "I haven't ever said this, but I unfortunately can't carry my own children.

"I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby's in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while."

Selena went on about how she is still determined to become a mum in a "different" way: "It's not necessarily the way I envisioned it. I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone.

"I'm in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me.

"It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be mums. I'm one of those people. I'm excited for what that journey will look like, but it'll look a little different."

She added surrogacy or adoption would still mean she would be a mum, saying:

"At the end of the day, I don't care. It'll be mine. It'll be my baby."

In 2013, Selena was diagnosed with lupus and four years later successfully received a kidney transplant.

She told Time magazine about how she resigned herself to being a single mum before she got together with Benny: "I was alone for five years and I got really used to it. A lot of people are afraid of being alone and I probably tortured myself in my head for like two years being alone, and then I kind of accepted it."

Selena added she then "came up with my plan" — which was for her to adopt at the age of 35 if she "had not met anyone".

She said about things changing when she met Benny: "It just happens when you least expect it."

Selena took her romance with Benny, born Benjamin Levine, public in December, and he has told how his "next goal" is to have children with the actress.

He said on The Howard Stern Show: "That's my next goal, to check the box (of having a family.)

"I have a ton of godkids; I've got a ton of nephews. I love being around kids."

First, I didn’t claim it, if you look, I asked a question.

Get a life agitator.

This woman was an abortion activist, so it is a very logical question.

Further, the guilt from having an abortion can cause autoimmune diseases.

Lupus is an autoimmune disease.

Women with lupus can become pregnant and have children. Per her own statement, she didn’t want to get pregnant due to her meds for bipolar disorder.

My heart goes out to her & any woman who is unable to carry a child to full-term and deliver a healthy viable baby! I know her grief, I know her sorrow. And I have friends who also share that same sorrow. While we were in the bathrooms crying because we would never get pregnant from the sex we just had with our husbands, we knew all too well there were other women at the same time deciding to abort their child, or those celebrating their pregnancy. My husband & I adopted, so did my sweet friend. But another friend just turned her heart to ministry and decided to serve the Lord. But I will never joke at a woman regardless of her politics that mourns being barren. And though we will live our adopted and foster and stepchildren, we still all longed to feel that miracle of life within us. And it breaks my heart that so many women are so cavalier about their reproductive ability! Life is certainly not fair, and only God knows the plans He has for each of us. I hope someday here on earth that my heart will no longer mourn the “what if..” of my life! I know in Heaven all will be clear and it won’t matter then. I’m just eternally grateful Jesus is my Savior, my loving husband opened his heart to adoption, and that God has blessed me in so many ways! And yes, one of my sweetest blessings is our adopted daughter!

lol. Just asking questions.

You a pedophile attracted to 9 year old boys?

Just a question. No insinuation at all. Just questions.

My buddy has Sjogrens. Its certainly an interesting disease, to say the least.

Underdiagnosed in men.

I have it as well but because I have so many odd things wrong with me I cannot know what is attributed to Sjogren’s versus something else at this point. It took Venus Williams many years to get diagnosed.

I say as a public service announcement that if a male has dry eyes and/or dry mouth don’t let the doctor get away with saying it is typically seen in females. Get the test. If your ANA is red flagging but you don’t have SSA-A or B marker ask for the Pre Sjogren’s test.

She has had multiple health problems including lupus and a kidney transplant. If she can still conceive, the doctors would highly advise against it due to the medications she has to take regularly.

I don’t know why you are attributing it to guilt. Pregnancy can trigger autoimmune issues.Perhaps the pregnancy factor is why some autoimmune diseases show up more in women. Or maybe it is more simple than that. You don’t need to have been pregnant such as myself. It is the things that allow you to get pregnant that may go haywire.

Other triggers are vaccines, environment, other diseases and the “we just have no idea” scenario.

I have a gene that has been associated with Anti PL7. Sure enough, when I strongly advocated for a second test where they tested for this it popped positive. So far, I have been lucky and have not been dragged down by Antisynthetase Syndrome. It is a nasty disease.

Why have I been lucky when so many others haven’t? Who knows. I just know it is percolating in my body and Science really can’t help those that are struck down with it. Johns Hopkins University is the place to go for people who have this and yes they are mystified as well.

I have no idea how to prevent it from going nuclear inside my body. Maybe some of the other rare quirks in my body that science does not understand are protecting me in some way.

You really shouldn’t go around claiming Guilt caused some autoimmune disease. Stress may or may not be a factor. Everyone has stress in their life from one thing or another.

I am in the same boat. My mom and aunt both had preeclampsia during pregnancy with all of their kids, and I was already going into kidney failure as a teen. I was sterilized at 19 for both my safety and desire to not have to consider an abortion should both methods of contraception I used fail.

I can’t have kids, either, and I’m a little older than she is. Sometimes that really bothers me, but my husband and my financial situation doesn’t have room for kids. Hell, we barely have room for the dog, and we’re living with one of my parents (who needs the rent money to keep the house - poor financial management on her part).

It sucks, but if she’s not anti-abortion after this, something is wrong.

My research involves the attributes on consciousness and how and why personality changes during soul and psychological development.

Yes, the hormonal changes during pregnancy can cause autoimmune disorders. This is an indirect cause and is in many ways a chicken or egg circular debate.

As Bowlby and Ainsworth showed with their research, emotional bonding is necessary for the development of a child. This is also very true in fetal development. A mother’s consciousness shifts during pregnancy to facilitate bonding and healthy child development.

For the same reason that placebos do work, perception by consciousness does influence and in many ways is the controlling factor in biochemical reactions in the body. Thus, the chicken or egg question is, “Does consciousness influence hormones, or do hormones influence consciousness?”

I say both, but the governing influence is consciousness as without it there is no life energy to facilitate the biochemical reactions. There is however a synergistic effect or momentum caused by the hormones that creates a feedback loop influencing consciousness.

Guilt is an attribute of consciousness. It is also a stronger attribute in feminine consciousness than it is in masculine consciousness. My research clearly shows that guilt causes a reversal in the emotional subconscious reward/punishment system where a person, especially in children, are subconsciously positively stimulated by criticism or negative stimulus and are negatively stimulated by praise or positive stimulus.

When the external environment does not cause sufficient negative reinforcement, the emotional subconscious punishes self through their immune system. (A person carrying guilt subconsciously believes that they need to be punished to get rid of the guilt.)

It’s a complex issue as their are many influencing factors. My research has looked at many autoimmune disorders to identify the perceptual programming events that created the subconscious reversal.

For example, I’ve examined 28 cases of MS, and every one had a trauma involving father around age five. The fact that more females get MS than males, and that the men who get MS tend to exhibit more feminine attributes is due to the feminine emotional consciousness being more in touch with guilt. As I tracked the severity of MS symptoms over a person’s life, I can show that symptoms decrease when the person is in a punishing environment and increases in a rewarding environment. Several of the MS cases I examined, the severe symptoms first manifested when the person was on their honeymoon after entering a wonderful loving relationship.

I found a similar pattern in cancer, especially breast cancer. I’ve examined hundreds of cases, many of them terminal. (My speculation is that the shift in consciousness works by influencing the allosteric enzymes in the liver that act as switches in the immune system.)

The same is true for cutters and self mutilators. The event is usually around age three.

There is always a root cause or perceptual programming event that predisposed the person to the illness. I’ve developed techniques that identify these perceptual programming events in a few minutes without psychotherapy or talk therapy. It functions like x-rays do with bones to identify the stored memories in the person’s soul that influenced a change or shift in consciousness and personality.

In my work, many times I have identified that women had abortions without them saying anything about it. The event causes an obstacle to Love in their soul that manifests as guilt. You can blindfold the person and I say nothing, nor touch them in any way. When I reach out and touch the stored memory in their soul that created the obstacle to Love, it knocks the person off their feet even though I am many feet away from them. If I repeat the process, the result is the same, even if performed on different days.

Using this technique, I merely have a person close their eyes and focus on the point where the illness manifested in their physical body. I then start about fifteen feet from them, moving toward them slowly, and when my hand hits the root cause of the illness in their consciousness, it pushes them back, often knocking them over backwards.

My original question, “Was her infertility caused by having many abortions?” is a very legitimate question based upon the thousands of cases I personally have examined over the past thirty five years of doing this research.

Thus, you can understand my frustration when person’s with very limited understanding and small minds like Fuzz attack in ignorance. They are living proof that Ron White was correct in his comedic theory about what cannot be fixed.

I have presented and demonstrated the process I explained above at many universities, including Johns Hopkins University. It freaks them out as their comprehension treats consciousness as a non material, theoretical object, while it is physical to my perception.

I studied at a medical school where the chair of psychiatry’s main research was in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). I could not tell her that I could see and feel the influence of her work on consciousness. She could not comprehend my communication as her total focus was on neurological and biochemical changes as a result of her TMS. People need a paradigm shift in understanding and comprehension before they can fully grasp the actual process.

That’s why TMS treatment is temporary and needs to be repeated as it merely shuts down the communication lines to the root cause. It does not resolve the root cause. (The same is true of SSRI’s and antidepressants.)

As an adoptive parent of 4 babies looking back on almost 40 years... and the experiences of all adopting friends acquaintance colleagues and patients... I think our culture should help as much as possible to have babies stay with their biological mothers.

Adoption is truly a poor second.

What leads you to say that? Does adoption in and of itself create problems that aren’t normal for all families?

Our first child was stillborn at 42 weeks; we still don’t know what happened.

After she died I went through a very bitter time, and as we tried to conceive and it wasn’t happening I faced the question of what I would do if we weren’t able to have children. Ultimately I came to the resolution that if I couldn’t have my own children I could still love the children in my life as if they were my own.

Our first surviving child was named Naomi Elizabeth. Naomi, for the woman who raised her daughter-in-law’s child and Elizabeth who was given her own child long after all hope of having children was gone. Both children were miraculous blessings for those women. And my daughter’s name reminds me that life is precious whether it is from our own flesh or whether it is from God’s provision through someone else.

The scene in “Facing the Giants” where the wife finally accepts that she will still love and follow God even if she can’t have children breaks me down every time.

Wow. Can that process of injury through guilt be reversed?

My daughter is working on her PhD in neuroscience and I know she would be fascinated by your research. Not wanting to dox you here or anything, but do you have any links or books that you could PM me to forward on to her?
