Newly dDiscovered Cause of Insulin Resistance -- neither sugar nor sat fats [of interest to carnivores]

This is a long video about the discovery of and research into a newly discovered essential fatty acid, C15, aka pentadecanoic acid.

Very quick synopsis (by me, so may have reflect misunderstanding, lack of attention, etc.): first noticed Navy dolphins having 1 type of health problem; studied hard; found low levels of C15.

Research showed this causes weakening of cell linings (and a bunch of technical stuff about mitochondria and so on), end result: this weakening of cell walls causes premature aging due to death of cells.

Notice: more and more and more children now have Type 2 diabetes, which used to be almost unheard off, and other stuff like higher rates of cardio problems (expected to increase by 600%!!!), and so on.

Where do we find this amazing fatty acid?

Whole dairy fats.

And shortly after minute 35, she gets into how the problems started showing up about 15-20 years after the FDA said everyone should only drink low-fat milk if not avoid it altogether.

According to some of the comments, the doctor and her husband are now selling C15 supplements, but this seems to be very available in food.

A simple DNA test will tell you if you’re prone to diabetes.

It’s in the genes. If it doesn’t run in your family, it won’t likely be a problem, but if your DNA says your prone... You’ll likely get it. And no amount of prevention will help.

Venn-Watson and her husband own a company that sells C15 supplements. They’re pretty expensive, too. While that doesn’t mean she’s entirely wrong, this is known as a Conflict of Interest. It was not adequately revealed in the paper.

Ironically, I posted a comment deriding ‘fake milk’ within an hour ago.

Your post accurately sums up the health effects of the tail end of the ‘fat is bad for you’ gaslighting of the last decade (and ongoing) which included legalizing the use of ‘milk’ to describe the fake shit.

ps...keto is worse than fake milk. IMHO & FYI.

I drink at least one cup of half and half, straight, every day. Some people find this horrifying. As for butter, it belongs in just about everything.

Amen. Especially if it's Kerrygold, which is about the only butter I like (ahem... LOVE) these days. That stuff is amazing.

Pentadecanoic acid (C15:0) is an odd-chain saturated fatty acid that is considered an essential nutrient for maintaining physiological health. It’s found in trace amounts in dairy fat, ruminant meat, some fish, and plants, and is also commonly present in ox bile

Dairy fat and ruminant meat = beef and butter.

I always dip my rib eye in garlic butter. It’s the keto way.

I am a fellow Kerrygold addict. Last night I came into the kitchen and found our Border Terrier chowing down on MY Kerrygold butter (he’d snatched it off the counter)...I screamed! How dare you steal my butter!!!!

My wife trained to be an RN at Brooklyn Jewish Hospital in N.Y. City (Now called Interfaith) back in the late 60’s (yes, we’re old farts). At the time, NY had the hardest state boards in the nation. She had excellent Jewish instructors (were Baptists), especially in the area of nutrition. Back then they taught the real science of health and prevention.
My wife has for years raged against all this fake health advice. We always used butter, coconut oil or olive oil. High fat yogurts and whole milk. With all the scare about the danger of a high fat diet, it took her awhile to convince even me. When she was a school nurse she tried to dissuade teachers from teaching the warped food pyramid - usually to not much success.
If you haven’t already seen the below interview, please watch it. It’s long but excellent! The tobacco companies bought up food producers right and left after the horrors of smoking finally were exposed. What they learned from making tobacco extremely addictive they then applied to the food industry - attempting to rinse and repeat. They lobbied congress to get the fake food pyramid approved. Of course, we now know that our food is killing us but this is how and why it got started. Money, money, money!
