WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Americans’ views of the effects of marijuana have worsened over the past two years, as slim majorities now say it negatively impacts both society as a whole (54%) and most people who use it (51%). This contrasts with Gallup’s findings from 2022, when the public was about evenly divided in its assessments of marijuana’s effect on society and more likely to say the effect on most users was positive (53%) rather than negative (45%).

Now the pothead dorks are out in the open blowing smoke in the streets thinking it’s cool.
In before the FR Pot Evangelists.
"I won't go schizo, will I?"
What was the move for “legalization” really all about? It was all motivated by (1) gaining something else from which to derive more tax revenue and (2) to bulld another legal source of political donations from a legal industry.
Maybe the genetic whiz-kids in agri-business can figure out how to make it smell better.
Indeed, and now we have to endure constant barrage of how MJ in all its extracts solves everything. It’s on TV and radio, in all your shops whether grocery or hardware.
We already have a snake-oil problem in this country of everyone going “natural”, and now MJ has become the supreme snake oil.
Weed these days ain’t that Mexican reefer from the 70’s, it is claimed to be “borderline narcotic”, and they were saying that 20 years ago.
Modern day Soma...
Hot Damn! Ohio, accross the river from me, legalized it a week ago. Now my grandchildren will be able to get 35% THC dope, if they are ever stupid enough to try it, easier than a six pack of Coors.

And to get low propensity voters (potheads) to show up and vote for D’s.
My view dimmed considerably after the “trade school” I attended was predominantly a cannabis lounge. I’ve been a big supporter of medicinal use as there are many benefits, but terpenes should be compounded to address specific issues. Recreational use in the 20-somethings has been rather disastrous as little has been “responsible.”
One look at the super stoner herself ka-muimalo-la who is stoned clearly most of the day and probably tipping a little snifter of alcohol at regular intervals.
The question in re: pot/cannabis is the effect, permanent on genetic IQ factors actuated in brain development/youth age up to full brain maturity, as well as identified genetic markers for the chemical effect of THC on schizophrenia spectrum (this the result of decades of gene region analysis clinically), and also the rise of cancer in chronic users.
Like all agents (dare one say booze clearly destructive even more so, easy availability habituation etc) it takes wider use and increase public awareness of the factual results of abuse to catch up and.... learn.
People probably supported legalization when they thought it wouldn’t directly impact them but now there are pot stores all over the place and the stuff stinks up the neighborhood
That’s mostly the issue.
Most have concluded that some people are going to smoke their brains out..no matter.
Just do it at home
And definitely not while operating a vehicle.

You are talking about CBDs, which have no THC and can’t get you high. I don’t know if they work, never tried them. Some people swear by them for pain management and such.
No stems, no seeds that you don’t need, Acapulco Gold is .......bad ass weeeeed!
Thank you— have had a hard time quantifying who these are, as some sort of libertarian free-livers (and addicts?) with whom it is impossible to have a conversation. A cogent conversation that does not devolve into name calling and denigration of intelligence and clinical training, and reality.
In my hometown in upstate NY, you can’t smoke a cigarette on Main St. — but it’s perfectly fine to smoke dope.
Decriminalizing it was fine. There are good medicinal ises for it.
Ticket people for smoking it on the street like they do for drinking.
Potheads have always been dorks who thought weed would get them laid.
Good one! The true non-dramatic answer to that is: “it depends on your genetic marker regions being sufficient to react to chronic use with that outcome at your current brain development age”.
