Now the pothead dorks are out in the open blowing smoke in the streets thinking it’s cool.
In before the FR Pot Evangelists.
"I won't go schizo, will I?"
What was the move for “legalization” really all about? It was all motivated by (1) gaining something else from which to derive more tax revenue and (2) to bulld another legal source of political donations from a legal industry.
Maybe the genetic whiz-kids in agri-business can figure out how to make it smell better.
Indeed, and now we have to endure constant barrage of how MJ in all its extracts solves everything. It’s on TV and radio, in all your shops whether grocery or hardware.
We already have a snake-oil problem in this country of everyone going “natural”, and now MJ has become the supreme snake oil.
One look at the super stoner herself ka-muimalo-la who is stoned clearly most of the day and probably tipping a little snifter of alcohol at regular intervals.
The question in re: pot/cannabis is the effect, permanent on genetic IQ factors actuated in brain development/youth age up to full brain maturity, as well as identified genetic markers for the chemical effect of THC on schizophrenia spectrum (this the result of decades of gene region analysis clinically), and also the rise of cancer in chronic users.
Like all agents (dare one say booze clearly destructive even more so, easy availability habituation etc) it takes wider use and increase public awareness of the factual results of abuse to catch up and.... learn.
People probably supported legalization when they thought it wouldn’t directly impact them but now there are pot stores all over the place and the stuff stinks up the neighborhood
In my hometown in upstate NY, you can’t smoke a cigarette on Main St. — but it’s perfectly fine to smoke dope.
My favorite true crime show is the First 48.
Lot of small time, part-time weed sellers get killed in a “rip”.
Makes sense, a small time weed dealer won’t report being robbed and he may or may not retaliate although a lot of times the robbers kill the guy making sure he won’t.
Legalizing weed will NOT slow the illegal traffic of weed at least not in the “hood”.
Another thing about legalized weed puzzles me.
There is virtually nothing in place to police weed impaired drivers.
I was watching a true crime show from the UK where weed is illegal and they have an on site test for drugs including weed.
If you test positive, you must go to the station to take a more precise and accurate test.
The UK has scientific standards in place to measure impairment from weed.
The UK doesn’t get much right but I applaud them on their stance on weed.
Driving with alcohol impairment has really been cracked down upon and that has been a good thing.
Unfortunately NOTHING has been done about driving under the influence of weed.
Really? Are people in general just now starting to realize pot has a corrosive effect on society?
Having pot smoke polluting my airspace is no better than having cigarette smoke doing the same.
The more they push a dangerous drug on the public, the more the public will eventually find out that it’s dangerous.
The lungs and brain weren’t made for smoke of any kind
Two identical job applicants are in your office. Both have essentially the same education, experience and qualifications you’re looking for.
One smokes pot, one doesn’t. Which one do you hire?
China and Russia prohibit marijuana use, and quite strict about it. However, the US is wide open. Sure makes me wonder why that is.
I don’t understand how in the State of California (I don’t know about other states) they are not allowed to advertise tobacco products, but all along the freeways are billboards for dispensaries.
The views have worsened which means that ultimately people will decide against using it, rather than making it illegal which makes people want to use it more simply because of the forbidden fruit aspect. When it is illegal people will use it just to be getting away with something. When it is legal people will decide in their own interest not to use it.
It’s not helped by the activities of people who wake and bake everyday. You can’t drive around a city without smelling it.
I worked for fifteen years for the DEA and there was a reason why the drug was in Schedule I, which are drugs with no known acceptable medical use. Marijuana was also viewed by experts as the ‘gateway drug.’ For me, it’s like déjà vu all over again.
