“What was the move for “legalization” really all about? It was all motivated by (1) gaining something else from which to derive more tax revenue and (2) to bulld another legal source of political donations from a legal industry.”

And to get low propensity voters (potheads) to show up and vote for D’s.

What were the motivating factors to legalize pot??. Interesting question. Those who abuse alcohol or drugs are the same type personalities. deep inside they hate themselves. They wont admit it, but tell me why does a person take a vacation ? Why leave your home if you aren't visiting relatives?

The users want an escape from reality. And they have only their selfish desires in mind.

They really don't think about the consequences of their actions.

I'm not against either alcohol or Marijuana. An occasional joint when you don't have to work for a few days, a champagne toast at a wedding, a shot or a beer at a funeral.

IMHO it's a self hate that leads to abuse unless it really is for medical use. And that would be in very limited amounts and duration.

I'll sit here and let the potheads complain about it's none of my business when and how much they smoke, they never hurt anyone. ( that's all a -not yet) or about how they have been smoking for years for ptsd or chronic pain. I get both of those reasons. But eventually your habit will make you paranoid and or delusional. Too much pot or alcohol rot your brain and higher cognative functions. Such as " how to drive a car"
