Opinion | What Harris Has to Do Next, and Fast
The New York Times ^ | Aug. 23, 2024 | Patrick Healy

If the Republican convention’s message for America last month had to fit on a bumper sticker, it would read: “TRUMP IS GOD.” Delegates deified him relentlessly as the risen Trump after the assassination attempt. They told me over and over that he was spared to save the country with his re-election. Only on the final night did Trump come crashing down to earth with his nomination speech. Divine it was not.

What a mistake. The most divisive man in America was suddenly getting a measure of goodwill from skeptical voters after he was nearly killed. People were tuning in to see if he’d talk like a changed man. And then he threw it away with the same old rant. All Trump had going for him was Joe Biden’s weakness.

Flash forward to this week. If the Democratic convention’s message for America had to fit on a bumper sticker, it would read: “HARRIS IS JOY.” The word has gone from being a nice descriptor of Democratic energy to being a rhetorical two-by-four thumped on voters’ heads. Don’t get me wrong — there are many worse things than joy — but I cringed a little in the convention hall Tuesday night when Bill Clinton said Harris would be “the president of joy.” Joy is the new “fetch” from “Mean Girls” — Democrats are bent on making the word happen.

But joy is not a political strategy. And God is not a political strategy. The good news for Democrats is that Harris seems to understand this. Americans want her to lower their household costs and make it easier to find housing. Being our joyful Momala is not going to win the election.

I wouldn't expect anything more, she's not a serious candidate.

Another “issues are important” commentary—we have the same stuff on our side.

Of course the commentator always list the issues they think are the most important....

When nobody cares what they think.

Patrick Healy, you can’t really believe what you wrote.

First of all, I’m pretty sure Jesus doesn’t know you. What that means is that you will spend eternity in hell for your sins. Lying is one of them. Jesus said “I am the way, the truth and the life”. “TRUTH” was/is very important to Jesus, apparently NOT to you.

And this....Harris PTB had to tell Walz to cool it......many people
criticized Walz’s hyper, overly excited behavior, alongside her.

She’s so inconsequential, an idiot like Walz was upstaging Harris.

Walz came across as effeminate, ruled by his impulses, and looked
like a Price is Right contestant hoping to win a trip to the border.

Besides, he couldn’t very well appear “too masculine” next
to the cocky, aggressive Harris who is still “finding herself.”

“Harris is Joy”.

Ah yes the joy of layoffs, high energy prices, goods and services amidst high inflation. What’s not to like?

I assume this clown lives in NYC.

I agree with him, NYC could use some joy.

A little law and order and no illegal invaders could bring back some joy.

But Comrade Kammy ain’t touching any policy that would bring a little joy to NYC.

This is insane propaganda. First, they start off being blasphemous in a way that completely distorts what Republicans believe and stood for at the RNC. Then it’s followed by the laughable Democrat/media talking point that the DNC was about “joy,” when it was a convention of hatred, obsession with dehumanizing and constantly lying about their opponent, and empty, vacuous platitudes with extremely little substance.

The RNC vs. DNC was night and day. The RNC featured regular Americans, listened to their suffering, talked about how Republicans would change things to help them. And the Republicans there showed individuality with all their unique costumes and campaign items and shared an excitement and optimism born on a belief in their cause and in their effectiveness of their specific policies.

The DNC, however, was the most stage managed, Hollywood version of an empty convention I’ve ever seen. Instead of focusing on regular Americans’ stories, they paraded out politician after politician after politician with an especial focus on radical ones like Bernie, AOC, Elizabeth Warren, Al Sharpton, etc. With occasional exceptions when they were especially riled up for specific speakers, the audience looked bored and listless like they were at a business conference. They mostly just wore regular clothes and all their signs and other items were mass produced things for the entire audience to use with no individuality.

Then they focused their attentions overwhelmingly on slandering their opponent and fearmongering and stewing in overwhelming hatred against him. This was their only major position. They tossed in some about abortion and a big heaping of vacuous promises and feel-good language—and ran far away from substance and dealing with the issues that matter to everyday struggling Americans.

Kamala was the first to jump on Juicy Smolliet’s bandwagon. That says a lot about how she’ll govern without facts. Immediately playing the false race card.

Patrick Healy usually covers the homosexual beat in Greenwich Village. His articles on three way sodomy are legend among the degenerate class.

One thing correct about his “Trump has arisen” statement, is that in 2025, the prophetic gnashing of teeth described in scriptures, will be gifted to Healy and his ilk. The beautiful blessed Trump reign will come down from the heavens and rule for 4 majestic years, and anoint the true believers, while the filthy scumbag deep state globohomo’s are going to get what they deserve. /spit

Lara Trump cleverly inserted the word “blow” into an interview last night. Straight face to the max. Oh, I laughed.
