Excited For The New NFL Season? Here’s A Piece Of News That Will Infuriate You And Completely Kill Your Buzz

The greed is unreal.

When football fans realized that it costs a whopping $679.99 for NFL Sunday Ticket through the Apple Store, or $739.99 if you decide to bundle in NFL RedZone, a ton of them went absolutely bonkers in anger.

The ridiculous prices were revealed by NBC Sports’ ProFootballTalk, and understandably so, it set off a reaction of rage among the NFL‘s fanbase. And to nobody’s surprise, that $679.99 price tag (or $739.99) to watch through Apple TV, iPads, iPhones and other Apple devices is the highest price out of all streaming services. Because of course it is.

It was rumored in 2023 that Apple spoke with the NFL about including access to Sunday Ticket in their Apple TV+ subscription that costs just $6.99. That’s all it would’ve cost under Apple’s plan. But the NFL being the greedy brand that they are, declined. (RELATED: ‘Sign The Contract’: Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill Issues Official 50-Yard Challenge To US Olympic Gold Medalist Noah Lyles)

Oh, but it gets worse.

According to a report from Courthouse News, ESPN made the suggestion to the NFL to bring down their price to $70 per month. But nope, that wasn’t good enough for the league either.

Kudos to Apple and ESPN for at least trying to bring down the Sunday Ticket price. The NFL, on the other hand, should be utterly ashamed of themselves.

My wife and I are over here saving up for a house … there’s no way in hell I can justify spending this much money on a TV package. (Anybody down to be my Sunday Ticket sponsor?)

Well I for one definitely won’t install a VPN on my PC, get a good popup blocking browser or ad on, and go to nflbite.to or any number of other streaming services overseas to watch the broadcast stream for free.

Not gonna do it, wouldn’t be prudent...

Will any pro football games this fall be available for people with just antennas?

How stupid can football fans possibly be?

Go to a bar, buy a drink, nurse it for the game. Costs what, $10. 17 games = $170.

Except the NFL has raised the Sunday Ticket charged to your local pub by 70% over last year's price, which was already 50% over the previous year's price increase. The owner of my neighborhood pub said that he would have to raise the price of a pint from $7 to $9 and cut the size of the pint from 20oz to 16oz just to cover the NFL Sunday Ticket price increase -- assuming he doesn't lose customers because of the price increase and size decrease per pint. I have been told, however, that big box food places, like BWW, who spend millions of dollars in advertising during NFL games will pay more for the Sunday Ticket this year, but the price increase as a percentage is a lot less than your local tavern will have to pay.

I hear ya. Football was an escape from politics. And the Left doing what the Left does, ruins it.

“The greed is unreal.”

Yep. I love baseball, and MLB is hundreds as well. BUT - they will black out my team in my area. So, no.

(I know, get a VPN and pretend you’re in Alaska. Not interested. Still too much.)

Re: Bringing back roller derby (Post 6)

Roller derby has been back since 2004.

It should actually be cheaper because being on YouTube, NFL Sunday Ticket has a MUCH larger potential fan base in the USA. Keeping the old price could have attracted a much larger audience than when it was a DirecTV exclusive.

Exactly! Seems to me that by limiting their broadcasts to ONE source they are limiting their potential earnings.

Why not Direct TV, Dis, YouTube, Disney+, HULU, ROKU and all the others as well?...............

What was the price last season? Did they jack it up a ton or was it always more than $20 a month?

Isn’t this package mainly intended for bars so they can have all the games on all the TVs at the same time? To where the large charge isn’t as excessive as it sounds?

Well, the NBA survived it.

The NFL would survive too, because people want it to. They’ll pretend it’s an “isolated incident”, and move on.

They're already losing fans. They're doing well with gamblers. Maybe that's the direction They're heading in.

In the meantime, all the stadiums will become empty.

2.4 million residential subscribers and 48,000 businesses have Sunday ticket. Pretty sure a business pays more.

2.4 million residential subscribers and 48,000 businesses have Sunday ticket.

That's low ratings as a percentage of total population.

College football viewership exceeds many NFL teams. The NFL attempt to expand into Europe shows they know they can't stem the decline in the U.S. and instead will chase overseas viewers.

No wonder they're pimping Taylor Swift and other celebrities at NFL games.

Those are the numbers for the premium Sunday ticket subscribers, not total viewership.

The anti-trust suit might kill them too.

But, TV money is keeping them alive and well. Salary caps just went up due to increased revenue.

Finances aren’t the problem, right now anyway.
