To say this year’s Republican presidential ticket does not know how to talk to or about women, or figure out what matters to them, would be the understatement of the century. And I sure hope they keep it up.
It’s all mind-boggling, from nominee Donald Trump’s racist, sexist ramblings about Vice President Kamala Harris to the, ah, unusual views of his running mate, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, on parenthood. Now the hapless pair are digging in deeper as they try to cope with the post-Roe vs. Wade world — the one brought about by Trump’s Supreme Court appointees and celebrated by Vance.
There are two major obstacles in their path, and they are related. One is the shift of women — specifically white, college-educated, Republican women — away from Trump and the GOP. They’re turned off by their party’s “cultural extremism,” says Mike Madrid, a Sacramento-based never-Trump author, strategist and election data analyst.
The second obstacle is that Trump and Vance are in denial. “I think that abortion has become much less of an issue. I think it’s actually going to be a very small issue,” Trump said at his Mar-a-Lago news conference Aug. 8. “I think the abortion issue has been taken down many notches. I don’t think it’s a big factor anymore.”
Vance went the same route when Fox News host Laura Ingraham told him that according to a “dear friend” of hers, “all these suburban women, all they care about is abortion.” Vance replied: “I don’t buy that, Laura. I think most suburban women care about the normal things that most Americans care about. Right? They care about inflation. They care about the price of groceries. They care about...”

The abortion question... How many has Kamala had? Will surely come up at some point.

If you are actually obsessed about the “abortion issue’ , you have some real problems. Especially if you live in a Blue state where they practically encourage abortions and most certainly accommodate them.
Obviously that’s above the norm, but the suburban women around me are often rabid, single-issue voters re: abortion, with that being the excuse for Republican women not to support Trump.
Yes, I live in a blue state.
Because they do.
They do? I think there's a big difference between suburban women and childless cat ladies.
It IS a central issue to their ideology and has been for a long time.....it now seems the very CORNERSTONE of that ideology for immediate electoral purposes, regardless of what numbers of what constituency for which it is all important. I have gotta say the “ Republicans”, or just the Trump Campaign, have not issued any statement that will effectively take the wind out of the sails out of this issue for the Progressive Baby-Killers, whose cult is death, anyway you slice it. The MSM is very unfriendly to any subtlety surrounding issue anyway, so maybe it’s a lost cause for the more nuanced Conservative side of it to get or ever expect any kind of mature, “robust” debate about it for purposes of either winning new voters to the side they don’t want to gain strength.
Doesn’t Trump feel that abortion is a state issue, not a federal issue...
Beware of this new trick of words Democrats are using... In newest abortion legislation they ask that abortion be okay if recommended by a “Healthcare provider.” Knowing that most people do not understand it doesn’t mean your doctor. It could be Planned Parenthood or any abortion clinic defined as healthcare provider.
I found this out when the retards knocked on my door wanting me to vote for the legislation. Subsequent search gave me the real answers they where hiding.
Read your ballots carefully these are tricky scheister leftists.
That is what Trump said. It’s up to your state.
Yes, so do I, sadly. There are also plenty of women unable to have children (including women who remained faithful to husbands unable to produce children) who are firmly pro-life. I personally know more than a few of them.

dangerously? Give me a break.
None of those women are griping because they all know if they want to kill their unborn child that it is still possible to do so.
Abortion is not an issue this time around.
It's their teenage daughters' mulatto babies they want to preserve the right to get rid of. Nobody dares to bring up that aspect of the issue.
This is why women should not ever be allowed to vote in any society.
Trump’s position is moderate-to-left in American history and even currently in other Western nations (Europe). Abortion at any time, up to and after birth, is a sacrament to American Left alone, and is a recent phenomenon. There is no scale and no compromise, much like the deranged homosexual agenda once an aim is achieved, or Islam once it claims territory.
Where slippery slopes exists, be assured of the presence of evil, because that’s how evil operates.
I live in a very red area in a pretty red state.
I’m envious.
Cause women only car about KILLING children and not at all about men in their bathrooms, other personal spaces, or being raped in prison by fake men they are forced to share space with....
Wouldn’t have thought it came up much since I heard she was a backdoor girl and a swallower...
every conservative non evangelical woman that I know says they support abortion for women, most up to 12 weeks. All support the oral abortifacients. It is not a big deal for many women at this time
They are not happy with the making it a main issue in the election.
