And I’m guessing that just the insurance for such a pricey vehicle would bankrupt most people.
Oh, well. I guess if you want to save the Erf and make Al Gore happy, you gotta do what you gotta do.
100% EV?
NOT happening....
Curb weight is 8800 lb. My 2023 Chevy Silverado RST is 7000 and cost me $30,000 less.
I’ll take none, please.
Keep it.
>> This EV truck starts at $70,000. Who the heck would even consider buying such a thing?
“I wish I had the money to buy a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV!”
“Why in the world would you want to buy a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV??!?”
“Oh, I don’t! Those things SUCK. I just wish I had the money to buy one, so I could spend on other things!”
;-)
"EIGHTY-TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS??!? THIS MONSTROSITY?!??"
I have to wonder if that extra weight wears out tires quicker.

Great question. And the short answer is “yes”.

Ford’s cost the same.
The dealerships lose MILLIONS in revenue because of no tune ups, oil changes, no maintenance on the EV’s they need to make up that revenue somehow thus a $70,000 ticket price which is outrageous for a car!!

Yes, I’ve noticed that. I have a bit more respect for Ford, as I think their quality control is a little better than that of GM. But Ford has really dropped the ball in recent years. So the quality control difference isn’t much these days.
Ford or GM, who is buying these expensive EV monstrosities? I can’t believe a fleet truck buyer would. Maybe some people are leasing them just to impress their neighbors.
there are all sorts of auxiliary systems that will need maintenance and repairs. Heaters/blowers/AC - battery and charging issues, tires/alignments, computer system issues, etc.
It’s a nice-looking truck. It goes pretty far on charge. but I just don’t trust EVS.
> It goes pretty far on charge. <
I’ve done a bit of reading on that. Range is usually calculated assuming the truck is carrying no cargo and pulling nothing. I suppose some people just use an EV truck for basic transportation. But if you want the truck to do any work, all bets are off.
Like you, I just don’t trust them.
Forget the Chevy...this is the way. If you have to ask how much it is you can’t afford it. 14mm ballistic armor, 800V JP8 compatible on board power as well. Do want :)

Who will fix it after it’s driven off the lot? They will? LOL!
Nearly every truck seen in the suburbs has never once done a day of truck work in it life. They have pristine beds not so much as scratch of ever having anything in the bed. They are for the truckbros to go from the suburban house to the parking lot at work and back then to the half naked sports bar where they line up all backed in not a scratch on the $65,000 yuppie mobiles. So yeah the vast majority of trucks in the burbs are grocery getters.
In a true madmax world steam is king. I have always wanted a hotbulb engine that could run on anything flammable liquid or gas as long as it can be put in the bulb it goes bang..pppfffttt bang pppfffttt with leather belts on the power take off all 1850s tech.
