A shocking video circulating on social media has exposed staff members at a Knoxville, Tennessee dental office for mercilessly mocking a cancer patient's private diary while reading it aloud.
The footage, which appears to have been recorded and shared online by a giggling employee, shows a staff member of Premier Dental Group of Knoxville reading passages from a patient's journal to nearby colleagues.
The video shows employees laughing at the patient's thoughts on different treatment options and concerns about various procedures.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many condemning the dental practice and calling for a boycott, KVUE reported.
Premier Dental Group of Knoxville posted an apology on Facebook, acknowledging the 'inappropriate video created and shared by some of our employees that addressed an individual's medical condition in a disrespectful and unprofessional manner.'
However, the practice's profile disappeared shortly after the statement was published.
'We deeply regret this incident and the hurt has caused,' the practice wrote in the since-deleted apology, according to WBIR.
The group acknowledged the gravity of the situation and claimed to be investigating.
'We take this matter very seriously. We have initiated a thorough investigation into the incident and are taking immediate steps to address it. The employees involved have been addressed and we are reviewing our internal policies and training procedures to ensure that such an incident does not happen again.'

Not directly related to this, but the other day I was speaking with someone and he said: “It’s people being people. Doing people things. People suck.”
It’s wrong. But it’s all around us.
Robert’s rules “it’s a tax”.
Well,
Let be the first to recommend this link: ziprecruiter.com, as the begin their new journey in whatever career field interest them as they leave the medical profession......when they get their asses fired for being absolute reprehensible scum bags.
All kinds of HIPPA violations in this one. Let the Fed deal with them then sue them for millions in court privately.
The “practice” issued the apology. The Doctors needs to be sued for extreme humiliation, every employee needs their wide asses split in two from a steel towed boot out the door. And sue them.
The patient will own the practice after all is said and done. The dentist involved will lose his license for allowing non essential workers to view a patients file. Further all of them will never work in healthcare again.
Ironically I was at the dentist at a nearby East Tennessee town when this went viral. I overheard the dentists and their assistants discussing it. They were outraged. One of the dentists said that, if he had been there, those involved would have been fired on the spot. They also mentioned that up to a point, it was highly unethical but not necessarily illegal. But they said that posting a patient’s medical information online violates HIPPA laws and will result in major problems for those involved.
“It’s the video’s fault. “
I noticed that. Even the boss/management did not take responsibility.
Those people needed to be fired.

Caveat emptor, folks.
well, you’re correct.
How did they get this persons journal in the first place
I have always enjoyed excellent treatment from doctors, dentists, surgeons, etc.
But as the ones I’ve used have aged and retired, stories like this (we went though similar with a nursing home where we had a relative) have made me suspicious and doubtful of peoples’ characters.
Are they a chain?
I don’t work in a medical care but in medical manufacturing. It took a long time and much education in chemistry and materials engineering to get where I am.
That said it is very common for me and others to be treated as though we are morons by people in medical practices. That’s not just nurses but doctors as well.
For example when my daughter was being born she had the cord around her neck. Her heart rate was going to zero. The nurses assured me the mother’s body would protect itself before the baby.
Hour after hour went by. No doctor.
My mother went to the nurses’ station and told them that if anything happened to the baby she was hiring a malpractice attorney.
The doctor showed up mad as a wet hen.
Where had she been? At a birthday party.
This is not isolated.
There was a story of a woman telling her doctor she was not stupid just because she had cancer.
Here’s an article on the subject:

Was in a cardiac office once and the assholes were laughing about how yellow a jaundice patient’s skin had become.
Doctor also thought my story of experiencing chest pain while playing a video game was funny.
Never went back. But is it even worse when you tell them symptoms and they have no reaction whatsoever, or they shake their head because no your symptoms don’t fit what they’re looking for.
I think the malpractice insurers tell them not to react to patients, so it can’t be said they acted negative or positive.
Interestingly, nearly every doctor I see asks if I am a doctor, and then is cool with what I want to do, even though I tell them I am not a doctor.
Remember, 50% of all doctors are literally below average.
