White rice is nutritionally bankrupt.
IMO, it seems like white rice juice is more like fruit juice. Sweet and filling but all the good stuff is taken out.
Rice water, usually with a bit of citrus, was a very popular drink in the South during the summer. It was considered cooling.
Cold potato salad sounds a lot more appetizing.
But the best way to lose weight without feeling hungry is to go extremely low carb - after a few days, you just aren’t really hungry. My husband lost a lot of weight in a short time that way, and has never gained it back.

Why would you soak rice then discard it to drink the water? Why not drink the water and add more water to rice and cook it?

Drinking your carbs is a great way to put on the fat.
Make lemon water your only drink and you’ll lose a lot of weight, because you are cutting off a major source of calories by drinking non-calorie.
I was thinking just drop yeast into the rice water, let it ferment and then distill it. Sake!

Not really. It’s almost always enriched today. And parboiled like Uncle Ben’s steams the vitamins into the rice before the husk is removed. Brown goes rancid much faster also.
But white rice is fine. Even plain white rice is ok. It has fewer vitamins but it’s a real stretch to call it nutritionally bankrupt.
