I didn’t like ‘em. Got stuck in my bicycle chain.

"With his bell bottom trousers, coat of navy blue
She loves her sailor and he loves her too..."

Goes back to WW2...Guy Lombardo I think.

I really miss the 70s. If I knew then what I know now...

50s might have been even better.

I wore bell bottoms during the 70s and a chambrey (sp) shirt every day. Number of chevrons on rating badges varied as the years went by. It was a treat to leave them behind when i moved into khakis. Good times though.

Just the gentrification and wide scale acceptance and imitation of 60’s hippie fashion...where the youngn’s had to buy their clothes at army navy surplus stores.
Noticed same trend in the 90’s where kids wore mismatched patterns, styles, and fabrics, cause everything they wore was from the bin that had fashions that didn’t sell well and were cheap. IMHO

I showed my friends how to sew darts from the waist to inside the back pockets to fit better. Wranglers had a wider hip and thighs so fit better than Levi’s.

Yes, we had a lady who did alterations for us on suits, etc., and, as I recall, she did some of those waist alterations.

My last 16 months I wore jungle greens and tiger stripes — and so did our chiefs…

I stayed away from the Nehru stuff. Like Paul Shanklin said, they make you look like you’re going bowling. LOL.
