I know we will win – and how’: Ukraine’s top general on turning the tables against Russia, an Interview with Col Gen Oleksandr Syrskyi
Syrskyi is Ukraine’s new commander-in-chief. Two and half years into Vladimir Putin’s full-scale onslaught, he acknowledges the Russians are much better resourced. They have more of everything: tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, soldiers. Their original 100,000-strong invasion force has grown to 520,000, he said, with a goal by the end of 2024 of 690,000 men. The figures for Ukraine have not been made public.

They keep bringing back to service the old crap out of storage. It's confirmed by countless photos and videos.
Of course, the thousands of destroyed Russian tanks and the half million killed or maimed Russian soldiers have made the Russian military only stronger!
Brilliant logic!
Regards,
Russian army has been stalled outside Chasiv Yar, a town of 12000 and a designated crucial objective, for three months. It took them a year to demolish and occupy Bakhmut, the next town to the East. I hardly think they are a threat to “attack the West.” I agree Putin is a bad actor, but please, spare us the hysterics.
This is an artificial war, inspired in the 1990s by the Polish antiRussian maniac Zbignieu Brzyzinski and instigated by neoconservative machinations during the Obama regime, intending to get Ukraine into NATO.
That stepped on Putin’s third rail. The rest is history.
British tabloid-induced zeeper follies ping. The Guardian, no less.
Another starry-eyed neoconned whistling past the bulging Ukrainian graveyards...

The "Grauniad" is very, very pro-Ukrainian.
Speaking of blintzes, where is Churchill’s Ghost? He’s been gone for months.
Does the man have no friends on FR?
Timber Rattler claimed to be in contact, but he’s been mostly gone. Again, thankfully.
Ukraine had that from day 1, a conscription maximum age of 60. In fact, they raised it to 65 in some cases.
Did you raise the same argument back when the war started regards Ukraine?
Did you raise that argument when Ukraine lowered the minimum age for conscription?
https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/02/europe/zelensky-signs-conscription-law-intl/index.html
Did you raise the same issue regards Ukraine when they limited consular services in the hopes of forcing men to return so they can be used in this war?
https://www.rferl.org/a/ukraine-consulates-conscription-age-men/32917472.html
Did you raise the same issue when families were sending young boys under the minimum age out of Ukraine so they couldn’t be drafted when they do reach the age? Or when Ukrainian men are trying to escape? Or you have recruiters (((forcing))) young Ukrainian men to come with them (literally a paddy wagon pick up) so they can be used in this war? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xnw2Abqmu64 You need to get away from Google, YouTube, (US censored) etc if you want to see the hundreds of video’s like this. Some are quite amusing (sad but funny). Telegram is one platform where you can get something other than the one sided junk peddled off as news.
When you use an argument selectively, that is not indicative of being unbiased and it will usually not deliver you the results you hope for.
It is merely closing your eyes and pretending things are different from how they really are. Denial, anger and bargaining are typical phases many folks go through when they face an issue where they don’t like what is happening and feel they have no control, but it won’t change the inevitable outcome (ask any oncologist about that).
Ukraine is a consequence of a US policy failure, a bad gamble regards NATO East expansion and how Russia will take that.
Risk and ROI were not properly considered, the Russian voice was entirely muted, and we simply thought we can force things our way, hoping Russia would acquiesce.
A lot of people had to die, be crippled, become refugees, trillions of dollars were “wasted” through this war (war spending, Ukraine’s economy, infrastructure), and the result is: maybe we should respect and consider what Russia thinks also. Maybe we should factor their voice/perception into our decision making.

“This should have been stopped long ago.”
Yep, before it even started.

Ukraine’s SECOND genocide from the East.

If there’s anything to stoke fear into Ukraine’s Eastern Front, it would be to provoke the East with their one-time enemy’s battle emblems.
“This article shows Ukraine still talks of taking back Crimea”

Ukraine received Crimea from Khrushchev and had maintained it for 72 years.
Then Putin invaded Ukraine’s capital in what Xoe Biden called, “a limited incursion”.
Russia is now trying to enjoy “The Yacht Club of Crimea” for itself.
(Yes, it exists, in Sevastopol).
