A top advisor to former President Obama offered a dismal assessment of President Biden’s make or break interview on ABC.
David Axelrod, the architect of Obama’s two successful presidential campaigns, called the Friday sitdown “sad” to watch.
“When George Stephanopoulos asked him if he’d be willing to take a cognitive test, he said, ‘I take a cognitive test every day.’ Well, the fact is, that may be true, but 75% of the American people think he fails,” Axelrod said in post-interview analysis on CNN Friday.
While Biden again rejected calls to leave the race, saying only the “Lord Almighty” could make him, Axelrod said that wasn’t enough as polls show the incumbent slipping nationally and in battleground states.
“And some somebody really needs to be honest with him about it. It’s not, it can’t be the good Lord, but it should be people who love and care for him and his closest advisers, his portrait of where he is in this race doesn’t comport with reality,” Axelrod said.
Long before Biden’s CNN debate with Trump reignited questions about his mental fitness, Axelrod had been sounding the alarm about age and spent months warning that Biden was slipping.
In November he flagged the Biden “age issue” as a major concern and warned then the president’s chances against Trump in a rematch would be at best 50-50.
There has been no love lost between the two men over the years and Biden is privately known to refer to Axelrod as a “prick.”

Without a doubt he does. Axelrod is also a devious and dangerous person.
‘Somebody really needs to be honest’
This is utterly out of the question for most politicians, and especially for Democrats. Not happening.

when the press weapon is fired on you to force an outcome against your best interests, it is viscious and voracious.
This is not a free press. It is a mouthpiece for tyranny.

There was a part of the interview where Biden was bragging about the crowds at his rallies.
Stephanopoulos said he shouldn’t go there.
Then Biden said that, in essence, it didn’t matter because of the type of people at Trump rallies vs. his.
Just wow.
I doubt God will have much to say to Biden after he dies. Satan might have a few words with Biden however.

Davy sure has a lot to say all of a sudden. Gee, I wonder if Barry and Valerie have something to do with it.
It’s not that easy. People with this advancing dementia don’t recognize their condition, and you can be totally honest with them or blow smoke up their skirts - it doesn’t make that much difference. I saw it with much dad, and it was brutally disheartening for both of us.
You try reason with them, you gently relate things where their behavior has been inappropriate or deficient, and they don’t believe you. Or it registers with them for two minutes.
My dad loved and trusted me, and it was heartbreaking for me to explain to him something he’d done - or hadn’t done - that was counter to his best interests. He would look at me with hurt, pleading eyes and say “I did?” Yes Dad, you did. And within minutes, I’d have to tell him the same thing again. Once you experience this, you never forget it. (until your day comes and you also forget everything you’re told…)
If Jill and Hunter ever stop feeding him B.S. about how well he’s doing, it will make no difference. He will still think his handicap is 6 and he’s the only one who can beat Trump.
I had an epiphany just now:
The democrat establishment - the machine which supported xiden all this time, attacking all who criticized him - should name its new, independent (of xiden) presidential campaign...
“Suddenly.”
Think about it.
We all know that xiden has been in decline for YEARS and that the dem electorate has been in denial, falling in lockstep with talking heads - both official and media alike - who propped up the puppet, and that certainly key powerful democrats were also aware...
...but ‘suddenly’ the narrative shifts to support OUR CRITIQUE because they feel that their hold on power is threatened.
I awoke this morning to a home screen on one of my console apps presenting the abc little man interview with xiden.
Shocker. /s
I watched it. The interview obviously posted on the app to promote their ‘suddenly’ narrative. It was hostile, obviously set up as BAIT for xiden to sink himself. The post interview cackling among the abc talking heads affirmed it all.
I fully expect the crescendo from the left attacking the xiden campaign to increase to new levels this week as zero pounds his fist demanding that they do something to keep his 4th term viable.
