Scooter's Pirate Cookbook
In 1961 I wss in DC for several weeks and stayed at a large group of rooming houses called Hartnett Hall in NW near the embassies. They had a pretty good dining hall which served the best potato salad I ever tasted. It leaned toward red in color, suggesting paprika which it prolly contained. I’ve searched for a recipe that could produce something similar. No recipe I’ve seen calls for ingredients I feel this one might have had. I’ve reasoned that because this was DC, the salad must have been of MD or VA origin. Any suggestions.
Hi, lizma2.
Over the past couple of years, we’ve had a lot of serious illness and other troubles among our family and friends, and have been busy with that. I haven’t been able to continue the Cooking Thread as I did and would want to do.
I’ve been thinking of doing an ‘Occasional Cooking Thread’ - (VERY occasional) - and if I decide to do it, you’ll be the first to know.
Thanks for your message :-)
Also known as Old Bay seasoning.
Somebody ought to inform Scott Prentice that it’s illegal to copy other people’s work without citation, worse to name it his own.

Not for diabetics!
I wonder if I can substitute Splenda for the sugar and make my own low-sugar candy bars.
Does it have the recipe for roasted Uncle Biden with a side of Jeb Bush Guacamole?

Would love it!!!!!
Thanks. I’ll keep that in mind while trying to copy the taste.
I was just thinking of that episode this morning.
