Horrifying footage captured the moment a young fitness fanatic working out at a gym in Indonesia fell to her death after she stumbled backward off a treadmill and tumbled out of a third-story window.
Video taken from a security camera shows the 22-year-old woman on a treadmill at a gym in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Tuesday moments before she tragically fell to her death.
Footage shows the woman working out near the end of a long line of treadmills inside the packed gym before she stops and allows the machine’s belt to move her backward.
After she’s dropped off the machine, the woman suddenly stumbles backward, straight toward an open window directly behind the gym equipment she was just using.
The woman can be seen in the clip attempting to grasp onto the window frame before plummeting down three stories.

There is probably an Islamic reason around not facing the window, because they could be more easily seen without a head covering.

I have owned a strip center with a gym tenant.
Without fail, the claims they got were all treadmill related. Apparently it’s the most dangerous piece of equipment in the gym, mainly because it’s moving of its own accord and what rank amatuers like to use.
As a rough rule of thumb 3 stories up will kill you depending on the surface you impact and some other factors. 2 can be survivable 1 usually is.
They don’t call ‘em “dreadmills” for nothing.

This defenestration angle makes it even worse.
Never did trust those things. Running outdoors, no problem. Fresh air, sunshine, birds chirping, traffic humming. Always something interesting goin on. Time flies.
The dreadmill requires music to move. So all of this time the scheme for the music was to *block* sound, like the screams of fellow gym-goers as they plummet to their deaths.
Now we know.

That was my first thought. Somebody fell out of a window and died. Are we now to cast judgement, and call her a ‘fanatic’? Who cares what her habits were before the fatal accident?
An out of shape Flabberino couch potato would have been just as dead after being dumped from that height.
Her poor parents and loved ones.
The window was open just a few feet away from the end of the treadmill. A very stupid location for treadmills.
Always fasten your seatbelt beore takeoff.
